Ausadie Building is a registered Local & National Historic property, located in the Medical & Downtown District. Our secure building will feel like your home away from home! The Ausadie building was built in 1923 by Austin Palmer. Palmer was known for the "PALMER METHOD OF HANDWRITING". The building has been wonderfully preserved by Richard Cooley and Tim Oberbroecking, your host. Great care has been given to this building and it has been a labor of LOVE for Richard & Tim. Included in this private apartment is a completely stocked kitchen, including coffee, teas, hot chocolate, juices, and water. The bathroom has towels, blow dryer, shampoos, makeup pads and towels, and body washes. Guest can access all parts of this building including the laundry facility and gym. We have a very friendly, relaxing and safe building. The neighborhood is a wonderful example of urban living. We are located in the MEDICAL DISTRICT which makes it great for those coming to Cedar Rapids for medical purposes. Both Hospitals and PCI clinics are all between 2 and 8-minute walks. Downtown which offers many activities is only a 10 to 15-minute stroll. You can also walk to major attractions like the Grant Wood Studio, Masonic Library & Museums, and the Cedar Rapids History Center. All are a mere one minute walk from our location. Across the street, you will find Riley's Cafe, known for their great breakfast and lunches. If it's a night-cap your looking for, Grey's Pub is also across the street, serving food and cocktails. Coe College is a 3-minute walk which makes us a perfect place for visiting parents. Covered parking in the ramp is located to the rear of the property evening hours from 5:00PM to 8:00AM(PCI parking ramp) or in our open parking to the west side of the building. All parking is free.
