Owned, operated by a Daughter of the American Revolution. The space No Events in the B&B. You may have 8 daytime attendees which includes your 4 overnight guests. If you have more than 8 total guests additional charges apply per unauthorized guest. Across from Zachary Gazebo and live bands during City of Zachary events. Farmers Market every Saturday. No Pets. Private yet in the heart of downtown. This house is a living museum (furniture is authentic Victorian or Victorian reproduction) with all the modern conveniences you need. No modern furniture at all. This is an emersion experience. 2 full bathrooms, one with Clawfoot tub that has its own instant hot water heater so you never run out of hot water soaking in this 2 person tub & another with large new 5'x6' barrier free shower and full sized washer & dryer. Full Kitchen & separate Kitchenette in the TV room for guests. Eat in a 1900's authentic kitchen with American Stove Company gas range (includes oven and stove, wash up in our American Beauty double-sink, eat on an old enamel table and store your groceries in a 12 cubic foot old style refrigerator/freezer plus a mini fridge and microwave are in TV room kitchenette. Have a one-of-a-kind experience in this cook's paradise. Honeymoon Suite with queen bed is roomy with two comfortable armchairs in front of the fireplace and en suite bath ( 2 person double slipper tub with a dedicated hot water heater you can never run out of hot water, old time sink and pull chain toilet) New mattress and high thread count monogrammed linens. Desk for those of you who have to work. NO BATCHELOR OR BACHELORETTE PARTIES PERIOD. We have learned the hard way that when alcohol is abused you have no way of knowing or controlling what your guests damage. We have also had far too many guests lie about the number of guests they invite so detectors have been installed to log the number of cell phones inside the house. In addition, if we have reason to suspect you exceeded the number of guests allowed, or if damage is detected when you checkout, or if the neighbors make any complaints about the noise level, we will investigate the exterior professionally monitored camera footage and submit to AirBnB for their investigation into the damage. AirBnB.com does not allow parties period. Historic 2nd bedroom with double bed furniture Circa 1800's featuring a half tester bed. 1856 Pleyel piano converted to large desk. Privacy window treatments in both bedrooms. Chandelier in Gallery dates to 1850s. Display cases original to McHugh Merchantile Store which used to stand across the street. 1800s dining table seats 8. Some of the fine art, sculpture and jewelry in home is available for purchase. Owner is Artist/ Goldsmith with multiple State and National design awards for her work. We also sell works from local artists, antique art and at times some of the fine furniture in the house. We accept credit cards. Enjoy the wrap around front porch. Touch and feel how life was in a gentler less rushed era. Private brick courtyard seating area in back yard in addition to small cafe table and chairs on rear deck. Plenty of space to enjoy yourselves. Cheerful guidance and insights into local events. DVD player and a selection of music CDs and movies for families and children. For larger events we rent out the McHugh Carriage House for an extra fee. Make these arrangements as an inquiry from Owner. Carriage House is on separate lot and is not included with Bed & Breakfast. By owner permissionr only. Guest access Private parking plus ample free curbside/street parking and free parking in public parking lots across the street. Parking in front of the Carriage House is only available to guests who pay the extra fee to rent the Carriage House. There is free parking across Virginia Street, behind the Police Station, near City Hall. Other things to note No Pets. You may have up to a total of 8 people in the house and/or on the property during the day. At night only a maximum of 4 people may stay overnight. No guests may sleep overnight on the sofas or couches. Sleeping bags are not allowed. The Carriage House is available at an extra fee. Contact the owner to make these arrangements. Please read house rules so you are familiar with them prior to check-in. This house is a living museum. The antique furnishings are provided for your enjoyment. We do ask that you treat our antiques with the respect that they deserve. NO STANDING ON ANY FURNITURE. This inclydes children. Graco "On the Go" pack and play is crib, bassinet and changing table. Child safety kit provided with 30 outlet plug protectors and 4 grip n twist door knob covers which parent must install. Booking this room for children means you accept the responsibility for installation of these items in the rooms your children will occupy. Moving the large pieces of furniture and sofas in the house mars the floor. The only furniture you are allowed to move are the dining room chairs and folding chairs and playpen. Guests may use the 1920's stove. There is a microwave and mini fridge in the TV room kitchenette. Cooking classes for Southern Cuisine available. Contact me to arrange this option. I need advance notice to make this magic happen and each experience is customized to my Clients' preferences. If the carriage House is booked for a small event, the house will be available for B&B useage. This is a two lot property with a full sized lawn in between the Main House and the Carriage House.
