The space Island Sands Complex Island Sands is a proud, free-standing structure along the Hauoli St. Towering six stories tall, the tan building is hard to miss. Designated parking can be found directly out front or in the west parking lot just before the complex, both lots being shaded with the Hawaiian rainbow eucalyptus trees and dancing coconut palms. The two elevators can be found on the east side of the complex, just passed the resident managers office and next to a calming koi fish pond. Lush green lawns spread down along the oceanfront, leading to a gated pool and multiple public BBQ’s (2), where you can relax, swim, grill, and watch for sea turtles or whales depending on the season (whales visit our islands between the months of December- mid-April). Just outside the pool gate there is a public wash off station to be used any time at your convenience, for cleaning off before residing back to your Maui hale(home). Each floor of is outfitted with a trash shoot, but recyling must be brought down to the ground floor and placed in designated bins on the south side of the complex. Island Sands is a brief 5 min walk (0.3 mi) via Hauoli St to the longest beach on Maui- approx. 6 miles of sugary sand to explore, swim, snorkel, boogie board and even surf at times.
