Description
Aloha! This cozy, private cabin affectionately named the starpod is pentagonal in shape and is tucked away under lemon eucalyptus and cypress trees. It sits towards the back of our 3.5 acre homestead in Kaimu on the southeastern coast of the Big Island. The cabin is surrounded by trees and greenery. Over the years, many wonderful artists and seekers have stayed here. If you are looking to be close to nature and unplug from modern life for a bit, this is your place. The space The star pod is an adorable and incredibly cozy pentagonal-shaped cabin. It is tucked away and very private. The cabin is separate from the outdoor kitchen which is a couple hundred feet away towards the front of the land. Guests who stay in the star pod have access to the outdoor kitchen as well as the bathhouse where they have a private bathroom and access to our clawfoot tub and outdoor shower. The bathhouse is close to the star pod. (See pictures.) Additionally, as a licensed massage therapist of almost 20 years, I offer massage therapy sessions upon request. Guest access Guests have access to the outdoor kitchen, bathhouse and most of our 3.5 acres which includes a nature trail and many fruit trees. Other things to note This cabin is situated on our 3.5 acre homestead which we have lovingly stewarded for over fifteen years. We have been working on building soil and growing as many things as possible. We do our best to live sustainably which includes living off-grid. This means that we have an independent solar system with a battery bank for power. I ask guests to be very mindful of this fact and to be conservative with their energy use. (This means no hairdryers and appliances that use lots of power. Cell phones and laptops are fine.) Also, we are on catchment (rainwater) here so I ask guests to also be conservative with water use. Compost and trash: We compost as much as possible and provide a compost container for your food waste. (More info will be provided upon your arrival.) Animals and pets: My two dogs, Razzy and Alakai, live on the land. They are both elder dogs (about 14) and are quiet and very sweet. We also have 9 hens and a rooster. The rooster does crow (as all roosters do) and he does so pretty early in the morning so this something to keep in mind. Also, this is tropics which means that you are very likely to see critters like geckos, centipedes, millipedes, roaches, mice, rats, ants, and spiders to name a few. If you have an intense fear of bugs and small pests, this is probably not the place for you.
