Discover serenity in our centrally-located North Kohala studio. Enjoy a well-appointed kitchen, air conditioning, high-speed internet, a 50-inch SMART TV, and a comfy queen mattress. Immerse yourself in the peaceful surroundings with sheep, fruit trees, and gardens. Whether working from home or seeking solitude, our space caters to both. Explore nearby farmers' markets, snorkeling, walking, beaches, and live music. Unwind in our custom wood-fired sauna available 2-3 times a week at sunset. The studio has a full kitchen with a gas stovetop, microwave & toaster oven (big enough to roast a chicken). You can choose to use the air conditioner if you'd like, or you can open up the windows and enjoy the trade winds of Kohala. There is a dining area/workspace and a living room area with a comfortable couch (sleeper sofa), chair, and SMART TV. The bedroom has a comfy queen bed, six pillows, and a clothing rack with hangers for storage. A full bathroom has endless on-demand hot water, shampoo/conditioner, and two sets of towels. The outdoor space includes a teak table, four cushioned chairs, and a solar light umbrella. Relax or work on your laptop with views of the sheep and gardens. Washer & dryer on site. Ocean sunsets, whale watching, and snorkeling are 7 minutes away at Kapa'a Park. Mahukona Park is 10 minutes away, with a ladder entrance to the ocean for excellent snorkeling. You can check out the Kohala Food Hub online for options for a weekly CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) delivery to your door and shop at the various markets in Hawi or Waimea for exceptional local produce, fruit, and gourmet products. The Mauna Lani Sports & Fitness Club has state-of-the-art facilities and a lap pool, hot tub, pickleball, and tennis. There is a weekly or monthly fee. Other Activities: Golfing: Home to the PGA Men's and Women's Tours, there are excellent golf courses around the Island. The local golf course at Kamehameha Park offers disc golf, as well. The remarkable world-class Mauna Kea Observatories are an hour away on Mauna Kea Mountain. *Always make sure your rental car is allowed to make the trip. We are 30 minutes from Waimea town, which offers a brew haus, many unique shops, galleries, farmer's markets, and excellent dining options. Volcano National Park: Take a day trip to the Volcano, walk through a lava tube, and in the evening, you may even see the orange glow of Lava in the crater. Check out Hawaii Volcanoes National Park online for information about the Kilauea eruption. You can indulge in fabulous cuisine or recharge at some of the Island's best spas at any of the eight resorts along the coast, all within a 20 to 30-minute drive. You can also discover cultural treasures on the Kohala Coast, from the Anaehoomalu Petroglyph field at the Waikoloa Resort to those of the Puako Petroglyph Archaeological Preserve. After a walk in any of these fantastic preserves, stop by the remarkable Puukohola Heiau National Historic Site, Hawaii's most significant restored Heiau. Spencer Beach Park, just below Puukohola Heiau, is another family-friendly beach just 5 minutes away. Sea Horses: See the Sea Horse Aquarium Hikes: The Big Island has hikes for all skill levels Horseback riding: There are various places to ride horses in our area. Coffee Tours: Fresh Kona Coffee and Coffee Tours. There is nothing in the world like Kona Coffee. The property is located on a quiet dead-end street in semi-rural Hawi. Guests park in the driveway & enter the studio from the driveway. Guests have a private entrance with a lockbox. The sauna is available when the owners light it, usually two-three times/a week in the late afternoon/evening. Laundry is available on-site. Feel right at home! We're here to be your friendly hosts. The studio is located in a semi-rural location. A car is essential for long-term rental. You will need a car for your entire length of stay. Several companies rent long-term rentals on the island.
