Come get creative in the Art Studio! Previously used by a local Seaview artist, this peaceful, quirky and stylishly renovated 400 sq ft cottage boasts bright colors, hand-painted floors, a loft for art or meditation, and a private outdoor shower. The Studio is a quaint ground level cottage tucked behind the main house, adjacent to an expansive lava flow filled with native Ohia trees. You can sit on your private lanai to enjoy a meal, take in the view, or relax inside this cute, cozy rental. The Art Studio consists of a main floor and a loft, and can sleep 2 people comfortably. On the bottom floor, you will find a cozy studio style space with a small sitting area, queen sized bed and a kitchenette equipped with a sink, fridge, hot plate, toaster oven, microwave, and enough kitchen supplies to whip up a simple breakfast or a light lunch. Up in the loft, you will find a few art supplies if you are feeling creative, or just a cozy place to take a nap or read a good book. The loft requires you to be able to climb a small ladder to reach it. Please look at the photos and make sure this is something you are able/willing to do. The toilet, shower, and a second sink are located just outside the studio. They are very private and the shower is surrounded by beautiful tropical trees and flowers. The lanai has outdoor seating, a little swing and there is a grassy area to relax in. Your lanai is private, but you may see staff or other guests in the yard. Please note that this space is not suitable for small children or anyone that has difficulty with stairs, ladders or uneven land terrain. There are three steps at the entrance to the studio. We are located at the end of a quiet cul de sac, in Seaview Estates. There is one parking space provided in the driveway beside the main house. The studio is located next to the main house, which has a ground level rental space. The house and Studio are separated by a fenced yard. You have a private lanai, though you may see staff or other guests in the yard or on other parts of the property. The Art Studio is accessible with a walkway behind the house, that leads to a gate. There is approximately a 500 meter walk to the cottage over landscaped stones and sloped grass. This space is not suitable for small children or anyone that has difficulty with stairs, ladders or uneven land terrain. The cottage is equipped with high speed wireless internet. The space does not have AC, but with the windows open, you can easily take advantage of the ocean trade winds. Kehena beach, a gorgeous black sand beach, is about a 5 min drive away. The town of Pahoa has the closest services, and is approximately a 20-25 min drive away. This area of Hawaii tends to be very dark as there are no street lights, which makes it beautiful for viewing the stars. We have outdoor lights set up for your convenience, but you may want to bring a flashlight. I love hosting guests in the Art Studio in Seaview, and have lots of local tips for visitors. Seaview is a quiet neighborhood about 5 minutes drive from Kehena beach. There is a small park a 5 min walk from our space. You will have one dedicated parking space in the driveway.
