Description
If you want PERFECTION, this isn’t the place for you.BUT if you want COZY, COLORFUL & ECLECTIC, we’re all that & more! The ART House: Built in 1875 in West. MASS, close to Berkshires, Jacob's Pillow, Tanglewood, Norman Rockwell Museum, 5 Colleges area & more. It’s filled w/original art & a creative vibe. You’ll be captivated by the outdoor beauty & wonders of my area.Sit on the front porch across from the River & your own private swimming hole.Fall foliage. We allow dogs.TRAIN lovers come!See below The space Your space is on the 2nd floor of my built in 1875 duplex. A tenant occupies the first floor. The units are completely separate. WILD: There is a large yard. I let the Milkweed and Wild Thyme grow. It is NOT a manicured lawn. I like wild and we mow meditation/grounding paths. The small yard off of the back deck is convenient for taking Rover out to potty :) PARKING: Ample parking that would accommodate an RV/Trailer if needed. Beautiful, quiet dead end street. However there is TRAIN NEARBY/LOUD SOUND WARNING: There IS a train track about 50 yards behind the house and the train horn can be heard. It seems to come a couple of times in a 24 hour period but we've never counted. We are not bothered by the sound but some people are. HIKING & MORE: Fishing, hiking, walking trails in abundance. Check out the Western Mass Hilltown Hikers web site to find lots of trails. Our dead end street is quiet and safe for kids. It leads to a footbridge that overlooks the West Branch of the Westfield River. SWIMMING HOLE: There's a secret path to the river across the street. The water is never deeper than 5 feet in the summertime. Dogs and kids love it too. We've been swimming and tubing here since 2007. We recommend ALWAYS wearing old sneakers because the bottom is rocky. Shallow on our river bank side but when you cross there's about a 5 feet deep swimming hole across the river. SO much to see and do here but if you need a private serene getaway, this is the place. CREATIVE: My home has been home to authors, musicians, dancers and creators of all kinds so if you're needing a place to finish that novel or choreograph that dance, take some time for retreat and contemplation, you've found it! Conveniently located about 23 miles from MA Turnpike I-90 exit 10 in Lee and 13 miles from MA Turnpike I-90 exit 41 in Westfield. We are about 2 hours from Boston, 1.5 hours from Hartford, CT and Albany, NY, 3 hours from Manhattan, about 5 hours from Philadelphia, 7 hours from DC, 8 hours from Toronto. We are 55 minutes from Bradley International airport near Hartford, CT and about 2.5 hours from Logan Airport in Boston. There is no Uber or Lyft in the Hilltowns at this time Guest access The Yard, back deck, driveway closest to the yard side, second floor of the house and all of the unlocked rooms in the unit (bedroom, kitchen, living room, bathroom, hallways, dining area), front porch with seating, the river across the street with 2 secret entry points. DO NOT USE the FIRE PIT.
