Freeland Brook Farm - stunning Berkshires view
Escape from it all at this modern 1840s farmhouse on a working farm in the Berkshire hills of Western Massachusetts. Featuring chef's kitchen, soaker tub, and panoramic views, it is the perfect New England getaway for any season. Enjoy birdwatching, stargazing (we sometimes see the Milky Way), and leaf peeping. Nice hikes less than 10 minutes away. 20-45 minutes from Berkshires attractions like Jacobs Pillow, Tanglewood, and the Norman Rockwell Museum. Check out our guide for activities! The space The home is two stories. On the first floor, the chef's kitchen is full of windows and includes a large island with bar seats for mingling while taking in the view. Opening up off the kitchen is a large deck with grill, allowing you to make the most of the outdoors during the warmer months. Also on the first floor is a dining room with table that comfortably seats six, as well as a half bath, laundry room, and spacious living room. Bedrooms and full baths are on the second floor, with separate staircases between the primary suite (with spacious full bath and soaking tub) and guest bedrooms and full bath. The upstairs balcony offers an amazing view across the valley and down into the pastures, where you can see everything from owls and hawks to coyotes and bobcats. There are two comfortable, private workstations with rolling chairs and desks. One is located in the sunroom off the master bedroom (with a large external monitor and a great view) and another in the living room. Guest access You will have access to the entire home (but please stay out of the basement). You are welcome to use any items in our well-stocked pantry. If there are no cows on the property you are welcome to explore the pastures and forest. There's a stream if you go all the way down the hill (ask if you'd like directions). Other things to note 2023 marks the 50th anniversary of our family purchasing Freeland Brook Farm. There’s some magic in the air here, and we’re excited to be able to share it with you. There is an abandoned home on the property (our next project) - please do not attempt to enter. This is a working farm and we and our neighbor will be on the property 1-2 times/day to feed the cattle during the warmer months (typically May through September).
