Enjoy a true mountain town experience in the Cooke City - Silver Gate area after a day of exploring Yellowstone National Park and the surrounding high country. The property is 100' x 100' and the house is 1,050sf. Everything in this house is brand new and was completed in July 2023. A large mudroom/gear room/laundry room sets the stage for your endless adventures in the Cooke City - Silver Gate area. We've done our best to set the kitchen up with everything you could need to make most standard meals - pots, pans, baking sheets, brownie/cake, muffin and loaf pans, and coffee supplies. YOU WILL NEED YOUR OWN MILK/CREAMER which you can get at the Sinclair or Cooke City General Store, a 3-minute walk away. Sugar, spices & cooking oil on hand. For dining out, Cooke City has several summer restaurants. Easy to get basic provisions at The Cooke City General Store, The Sinclair, and Sweet Pea in the main office of the High Country Motel. You can make a full meal from what they offer, but for more variety shop in Cody, Livingston or Gardiner before arrival. We keep cooking oil, spices, and supplies at the house. After a long day of adventuring, I love being cozy on the couch with a hot beverage and blanket so I've done my best to provide a cozy experience for you. Whether you are renting to work remotely, need a basecamp for a month of wildlife viewing, or want to provide your family with a unique summer experience, this house will cover your basic needs with ease - shelter, kitchen, internet, and a shower. WE DO NOT HAVE A TV. THERE IS NO CELL SERVICE IN COOKE CITY and many places in the park and to the east into WY. You will want to use "calling over wifi" to make phone calls. When you are in wifi and using this option your phone works as normal. The entire house. No access to outside cabins. You can reach out at any time although we may not be in town during your stay we do have help should the need arise. We are located at the east end of Main Street in Cooke City across from Antlers Lodge, also an amazing place to stay. Walk to everything Cooke City has to offer! In summer, walk to Cooke City Coffee for breakfast. Wave to locals and visitors as you head out on your adventure. When you return, walk to dinner at Beartooth Cafe, Wookas Wild Eats, or Miners. Don't forget ice cream at The Sinclair! All just a few minutes walk from the house, as the town is only about 1500 feet long - likely smaller than your neighborhood at home! In the winter put your skins on at the door and alpine ski tour right from the house to endless backcountry skiing opportunities! Take your snowmobile out for a day of riding and sled to bed! You can also Nordic Ski from the house, but if you are accustomed to a fully groomed Nordic trail system like in New England or other parts of the country, this is not going to meet your expectations! You can Nordic ski on partly snowmobile-groomed trails, or create your own and link up to the Warm Creek Trail in Yellowstone only a few miles away. There is no cell coverage in Cooke City, Silver Gate, and most of your drive through Yellowstone from Gardiner to Cooke City. You will be provided wifi info before your arrival so if you have any questions when you get to the property or town before accessing the property you can connect to wifi and use "calling over wifi", text, etc. There is also wifi and a public bathroom at the Visitors Center at the west end of town a little over a 1 minute drive from the house. Parking on the property or Main Street is easy. You can pull right down the driveway and park straight ahead or to the left, your choice. Straight ahead is flatter. We built this with our own hands just the two of us! Thousands of hours of sweat, sometimes tears, a LOT of hard work, long days, missed skiing, and sacrifices. This is our home away from home and we hope you treat it with love and care so we can enjoy the newness of it a little too :) We need to take advantage of Short Term Rentals for the short term, our home will only be available to rent at select times of the year as we do our best to be active and participating members of our tiny community. If you want to get away to a place where you can walk to everything and feel like a local, a few trips to the Sinclair, Coffee Shop, Cooke City & Silver Gate General Stores, and the "Dump" and you'll meet most everyone in town!
