Speaking of the deck, it is a wonderful place to eat or just relax. The creek is just a leap away and provides an amazing ambiance! We have a mini-farm with an adorable, entertaining herd of goats, flock of chickens. We allow them to graze on the hills around the house. You decide! We love to get to know our guests and will socialize with you as much as you like. Or you can enjoy solitude. We will honor your wishes either way. NOTE: We have two spacious rooms listed. We will NOT, however, rent them simultaneously to separate parties who do not know each other. Our home borders on the Bitterroot National Forest that sustained a forest fire sixteen years ago. While we are within a mile of dense forest, there is still evidence of the fire around our home. It does allow for considerably more viewing of wildlife. It is not unusual to watch a herd of elk grazing on the hill in front of our home while mule deer hang out around the yard and nurse their young. Hiking opportunities are everywhere. We are within walking distance of some of the best fishing holes in the Bitterroots. Seventeen miles will get you to Lost Trail/Powder Mountain for amazing skiing and thirteen miles is all it take to get to great food in Darby. There is no public transportation. We participate in a program called "Workaway" in which people from around the globe stay for a few weeks to immerse in our culture while helping us on our farm and domestically. We usually have two. They stay in campers on our property but eat with us. You can find out information about our other guests at the time you are booking as to who would be here. Understand that our "commons" are is a shared space. Our helpers are always considerate of our guests.
