It’s one flight of stairs up, with the entry opposite the large sauna. There’s now a beautiful separate optional room we can consider renting occasionally if another room is needed for a completely separate private office or sleeping space or other quiet use off the large common lanai. Inquire for details if interested. We also have a smaller separate studio space on the ground floor that we sometimes rent out on Airbnb and sometimes keep for our own use or for visiting friends or family. You can inquire if you’re interested in more info on those, too, ideal for a group of friends or family traveling together but would also like some separate space. The yard is gorgeous, what really sold us on the property. You can feel like you’re deep in the jungle yet just minutes from all that downtown Hilo offers, restaurants, museums, groceries, etc., but also very near surf beaches, botanical gardens, etc. This listing is not always available as it is now part of our own home and sometimes reserved for visiting friends or family. The river and waterfall are a short walk away. It is not on our property, but access is allowed. We endeavor to keep the path clear of growth, but be advised this is Hawaii, things grow fast here! It is difficult to keep up. Also, if it has been raining a lot, the path will be muddy and slippery. It starts at a steep incline and then flat from there.
