#4 Cabins for a Cause on Tranquil Loon Lake

Description

Best lakeside "glamping" in NW Montana! Our rustic cabins offer a place to relax and enjoy Loon Lake and our 14 acre campground. It is the perfect basecamp for experiencing all the adventures the Flathead Valley offers. Cabins have bunks with mattresses for up to 8. The Lodge has separate men's and women's bathrooms/showers, a rec room with ping pong, air hockey and a great room upstairs with a piano. Two docks extend into the lake for swimming and watercraft. All profits support Flathead 4-H. The space The Loon Lake 4-H Camp was founded in 1979 and consists of 13 unique cabins and a Lodge. All proceeds from cabin rentals are reinvested to benefit the Flathead 4-H Foundation and are used to provide scholarships for 4-H kids to attend camp as well as to improve and maintain the property for future 4-H camps. The entire Flathead 4-H community offers you our deepest gratitude for supporting our youth by choosing to stay with us at Loon Lake! Cabins are approximately 200 sq ft and each have four sets of wooden platform bunk beds with camp style mattresses. Guests are expected to bring their own bedding. Cabins have heating and a small box fan but do not have air conditioning. Keyless coded access allows for secure storage of your personal items in the cabin. The lodge, grounds and other amenities are shared with other campers. The upstairs of the lodge has a wrap around balcony, a great room with tables and benches that can be set up as needed or the room can be cleared for other activities such as dancing or yoga. Downstairs you will find couches, ping pong, air hockey, foosball tables, a small game closet and the shared bathrooms. Separate men's and women's bathrooms each have four shower stalls, one of which allows for handicapped access. We have indoor and outdoor guest Wi-Fi around the lodge, but the signal may not reach to all the cabins. Wi-Fi password is available upon request. Cell service is decent and most guests also have success using their phone as a hotspot. Wildlife are abundant and we recommend all our guests to be "bear aware" which includes being extremely diligent about food/litter/trash security and removal. Guests may feel more comfortable carrying bear spray or an air horn, especially after dark. Guest access Guests are welcome to use the refrigerator/freezer and microwave in the bottom level of the lodge. Gas grills are available and propane is provided. Outside on the backside of the lodge there is a small closet with outdoor game equipment such as frisbees, croquet, and various sports balls. There are two tetherball sites, two horseshoe pits, a gaga ball pit, and a small basketball "court". Our large fire pit and charcoal grills are available for use, unless county fire restrictions are in place (typically Mid-July through Mid-September). We have indoor and outdoor guest Wi-Fi around the lodge, but the signal may not reach to all the cabins. Wi-Fi password is available upon request. Cell service is decent and most guests also have success using their phone as a hotspot. Other things to note Loon Lake is a prized local fishing destination. There is an abundance of wildlife such as beaver, bald eagles, osprey and of course the Loons! The lake is stocked with rainbow trout at the start of each season. (Guests are required to follow all state licensing regulations) There are two docks on the property to access Loon Lake. There is no lifeguard on duty and all water activities are at your own risk. Children under 18 shall not enter the water without adult supervision. Life jackets are available upon request. One dock is designated for swimming and the other is for watercraft access. Guests are welcome to bring their own small boats, canoes, kayaks, inflatables etc or may choose to rent from local outfitters. Smaller craft can be carried to our dock on the far side of the campground. Guests with larger craft may choose to utilize the public lake access and boat launch at the entrance to the campground (conservation permit required). Gas powered craft are not allowed on the lake. This is a shared/group campground experience. The camp reserves the right to rent unoccupied cabins to other individuals or groups and/or hold events on the camp property at any time. Exclusive of the specifically reserved cabin in this listing, all camp amenities are communal and will be shared by those in residence at camp.
