Do as much as you want or as little as you desire The space We chose the name, Mana Kai Palms, because of its Hawaiian meaning. Mana is “spirit” and Kai is "ocean" or “Spirit of the Ocean”. Step through the front door, feel the sea breeze and enjoy the spectacular, tranquil views of ocean, beach, and swaying palm trees. Relaxation, peace, and Aloha will wash over you. Keawakapu Beach is rated one of the top beaches in Maui; golden sand, turquoise waters, and perfect sunsets. The colorful coral reef is teeming with turtles and fish, making this one of the top snorkeling spots on Maui. The beach is a mile long, great for morning or evening strolls. To top it off, there is a raised grassy area with palm trees, great for games or getting some partial shade. It is a remarkable combination that you won't find anywhere else. You can spend your days relaxing and soaking up the Maui sunshine, swim, boogie board, surf, fish, paddle board, scuba dive, kayak, beachcomb, yoga, whale watch, or take a boat ride. The Condominium Mana Kai Palms 409 is a smoke free, fully remodeled with elegant and sophisticated furnishings chosen by a renowned interior designer. Our guests can expect a modern, “Four Seasons” style with an unparalleled beach and ocean background. As soon as you enter, you will see that this unit is all about the views and feeling close to nature. The open floor plan enables you to fully experience the Maui paradise that you will want to return to year after year. The private lanai faces the ocean directly with a view spanning from the slopes of Haleakala, across the vast Pacific, to the neighboring islands of Molokini and Kahoʻolawe. It runs the length of both the primary bedroom and living room and is equipped with a table for four, so you can enjoy the tranquil sounds of the ocean and wondrous views day and night: Coffee as the sun rises over the mountain, beach goers, surf and whales during the day, dinner as the sun sets, and then a drink while the stars and southern constellations come out. Mana Kai Palms has two bedrooms sleeping up to four guests, two bathrooms with walk-in, tiled showers, and a fully-loaded chef's kitchen where everything is new. Beautiful, custom shoji doors slide shut to divide the primary bedroom from the living room space. Fall asleep nightly to the sound of the waves while stargazing and watching the palm trees and the moon reflect upon the ocean. It really is picture-perfect, postcard material! Each bedroom features a California King sized bed, table lamps, alarm clocks, and extra nightstand plugs with multiple USB ports for charging all of your electronic devices. Each bed is equipped with high thread count, triple wrapped linens with custom, decorative, lumbar pillows, and coordinating bed runners. The unit features designer furnishings, swivel chairs for anytime ocean views, custom closets with ample space for all of your belongings, cable television, and WIFI. Original artwork throughout the condo features local Maui artists. Personal and professional touches throughout enhance the island atmosphere. The unit has split airconditioning, one for each room, or just open the air vents and let the Maui breeze flow. The Resort Merriman’s will be opening a farm to table restaurant called "Beach House at Mana Kai" where 5 Palms was previously located at the resort. Restaurant renovations began in 2023, and the tentative plan is to open in late 2026/early 2027. In the meantime, there are an abundance of restaurants minutes away in Kihei and Wailea. *While Beach House at Mana Kai is under construction or if any other repairs are being made, we have discounted the rates for the inconvenience of our guests not being able to access the restaurant and any potential noise or inconvenience. It's a great time to take advantage of the reduced rates! Please note that the business and/or fitness center may be closed intermittently during some of the work. We do not provide snorkel equipment due to the rise in infectious diseases and/or Covid transmission issues since there is a mouthpiece. We also happily provide shampoo, conditioner, body soap, hand soap, laundry pods, hair dryers, magnifying makeup mirrors, toothbrush holders, cotton balls, qtips, and makeup washcloths. Useful items include a fire extinguisher, First Aid Kit, and iron/ironing board. Thoughtful touches include foldable, sturdy luggage racks and a laundry hamper on wheels. The fully equipped, chef-ready kitchen has full sized, stainless steel appliances (including a dishwasher which can be a rarity for Maui vacation rentals) and features solid wood cabinetry, a glass mosaic backsplash, and granite countertop breakfast bar with stools. Small kitchen appliances include a microwave, coffee grinder, thermal coffee maker, French press, blender, four slice, stainless steel toaster, rice maker, teakettle, Cuisinart Juicer, and a hand mixer. Also supplied; an assortment of sharp knives, snap-top Tupperware, pots, pans, platters, serving bowls, bakeware, and a variety of BBQ accessories. Basic supplies are also included; coffee, coffee filters, an assortment of teas, salt, pepper, approximately 20 other spices, and cooking oil. Maui County will be phasing out some of their South Maui short-term rentals on January 1, 2031; however, this condo is zoned “Resort” and not on the list of phase out properties. This particular condo complex will not be affected. In other words, this vacation rental is not in a complex that is in danger of phasing out in 2031. The Hawaii State Legislature recently passed Senate Bill 1396 which will increase the mandatory transient accommodation taxes by .75% beginning on January 1, 2026. Unfortunately, there is not a way to charge for this .75% increase in tax until 01/01/2026. Therefore, any travelers who book in 2025 for travel dates in 2026 understand and agree to pay the .75% difference in taxes, as well as any applicable site processing fees, shortly after January 1, 2026. A request for the extra fees will be sent via this platform and processed through the Resolution Center. Please note that this .75% difference in taxes only applies to bookings that will take place in 2026. Guest access The Mana Kai Resort provides a wide range of amenities in a cozy, family setting. The saltwater swimming pool is directly on the beach and heated, rare on Maui, so it can be enjoyed day and night, any time of year. The 808 General Store is full of convenient beach items, leis, souvenirs, gourmet food, snacks, drinks, and coffee. The deli provides a simple yet tasty menu for breakfast lunch and dinner. Grab a gourmet pizza and a bottle of wine and enjoy the sunset! The Surf Shack rents surf boards, paddle and boogie boards, fishing poles, and other items. Surfing and paddle board lessons are available. Yoga Path is a popular Yoga Studio that offers a menu of daily classes at all skill levels. (a fee applies). It may be closed during the restaurant construction phase. The Activity Desk can help you arrange any local tourist items that you may want to enjoy. The resort includes your own free parking spot, a full gym (just remodeled), an onsite business center, washer/dryer units on every floor, and outdoor grills for your use. Grill up some Ono right on the beach! Other things to note ~ All Guests (and any visitors) must be registered in advance and comply with all House Rules during their stay. The front desk requires first and last names of all guests in advance of the stay. PARKING: Your assigned space is 51A. CHECK IN / CHECK OUT: Check in time is 4pm. Simply enter the code your will receive before check in and open the door. Check out is 10am. Just close the door behind you. Because of our rigorous cleaning program, we cannot accommodate early check ins or late check outs. Please check in at the front desk when you arrive so you can obtain your parking tag. The front desk closes at 5:30PM. If you arrive after hours, please check with 24 Hour Security to obtain a tag as they monitor all parked cars to ensure compliance. If you do not see Security, feel free to park for the night wait until the morning to get your parking tag from the front desk. SAFE: We offer a safe for your valuables inside the condo. WASHER DRYER: There are washers and dryers on every floor next to the elevator. TOWELS: Your beach towels are located in the bathroom. Please use them and return to the condo. The front desk gives out towels to their hotel guests, separate from our condo. Please note no mail delivery service available at this address. NEARBY ACTIVITIES: We have partnered with a local vendor, Rafael, who offers highly discounted rates for all of our guests on Luaus, Molokini Snorkeling, Helicopter Tours, Whale Watching, Zip-lining, Parasailing, Jet Skiing, Dolphin Snorkeling, Dinner Cruises, Horseback Riding, Raft Trips, etc. Kihei Food Oasis at South Maui Gardens is just a mile north on South Kihei Road and Alahele Street. A tasty variety of food trucks with live music every Saturday. Kalama Beach Park, one mile away, offers adventures, activities, and mile long paved oceanfront walkways with plenty of benches to take in the beautiful Maui sites. It has a beginner surf break, inline skating rink, playground, skate park, beautiful fields with fragrant trees and flowers, tennis courts, basketball courts, and volleyball courts. Charley Young Beach is less than a mile away and a popular choice for those wanting another snorkeling experience with lots of sea turtles and colorful fish. The "Kihei Triangle" is a mile or two away and offers a festive night life with restaurants, shopping, grocery stores, shave ice, outdoor markets, food trucks, live music, pubs. Kihei Boat Ramp is conveniently located just one block away. Snorkel and dive adventure boats depart from here to go out to Molokini or other South Maui destinations, much easier that making the long drive to Maalaea or Lahaina Boat Harbors. GOLF: The Wailea Golf Club is public and offers three excellent courses; The Gold, Emerald, and Blue Courses. It is 10 minutes south of Mana Kai Palms.
