Two queen sized beds with fresh linens offer a comfortable night’s sleep. Fast WiFi, local books, games, a TV with Roku, a record player with Bluetooth speaker, and binoculars for scanning the coastline make it easy to settle in. Outside, the spacious covered lanai invites you to relax, grill dinner, and take in the sweeping ocean views. Seasonally, you’ll find bananas, guavas, mangoes, and papayas growing on the property - feel free to enjoy what’s ripe. Keep an eye out for our resident ʻIo, the native Hawaiian hawk. This includes the home, cozy lanai, yard, coastline views, and fruit trees - everything is yours to enjoy. There are no shared spaces, so you can relax in privacy. Feel free to make yourselves at home, unwind on the lanai, pick fruit when ripe, and experience the peaceful surroundings at your own pace. Other things to note We also welcome extended trips and longer-term working holidays! (mid-term stays: 30 - 90 nights) For stays of 30 nights or longer, a required mid-stay cleaning and maintenance check is scheduled every 30 days. This includes a tidy and fresh linens to help keep the home comfortable and well-maintained. We’ll coordinate timing with you in advance to keep things easy and minimally disruptive. Additional cleanings are available upon request for a fee. Yard & maintenance: For all stays, routine lawn/landscape or minor service visits may be required. We’ll give a heads-up and keep it brief. Interior access happens only with your permission (except for true emergencies). Hawaii State & County Taxes: The nightly rate includes Hawaiʻi General Excise Tax (GET) of approximately 4%. In addition, Airbnb collects 14% in Hawaiʻi lodging taxes, which includes Hawaiʻi State Transient Accommodations Tax (11%) and Hawaiʻi County Transient Accommodations Tax (3%). A quick local update — September 2026: Nearby Nāʻālehu is recovering from the devastation of Hurricane Lala. Although our neighborhood did not see any major damage, homes and businesses in nearby Nāʻālehu and Waiʻōhinu were destroyed. Local favorites, like Punaluʻu Bake Shop, are temporarily closed, with plans to rebuild. Hana Hou Restaurant is open. Mahalo for showing our neighbors a little extra aloha as the community recovers.
