Description

Try out some offgrid, solar powered, homestead living with WiFi. Located 1.5 mi from fly fishing stream Rock Creek. Only 20 min from historic Philipsburg and all the activities it has to offer. This spot is more like a dry cabin than the Marriott, so there are bugs and critters, and it has an outdoor composting bathroom. Our guardian dog Ollie is very social and will be nearby for the majority of your stay. He LOVES visitors and all dogs, so if you’re not a dog person, this may not be the place. The space Welcome to our secluded off-grid cabin nestled in the picturesque Rock Creek area near Philipsburg, Montana! This charming one-room retreat offers a unique opportunity to escape the hustle and bustle of city life and immerse yourself in the natural beauty of this serene location, known for its exceptional hiking, hunting and fishing opportunities. When it comes to fishing, Rock Creek is a mecca for anglers. This legendary trout stream flows just a couple miles away from the cabin, offering some of the best fly fishing in the region. Cast your line and test your skills against rainbow, brown, and cutthroat trout. The cabin is thoughtfully designed to provide a cozy and comfortable experience while still being completely off-grid. Powered by solar panels, you can enjoy modern amenities in an environmentally conscious way. While WIFI is available, you can disconnect from technology and embrace the simplicity of living in harmony with the natural surroundings. Step inside and be greeted by a warm and inviting space. The rustic interior showcases locally sourced, handcrafted woodwork, creating a rustic and authentic atmosphere. The upstairs loft with a comfortable full-size bed invites restful nights, allowing you to relax and recharge for the next adventure. The couch also pulls out for an additional sleeping space. A compact kitchenette, with a single propane burner, provides the glamping essentials for preparing simple meals, and a small pop-table allows you to enjoy it while taking in the beauty of the outdoors. Cookware, utensils and some spices are provided. We have a 3 gallon water jug under the sink that connects to an electric faucet and the water is safe to drink and tastes great. Bring ice if you’d like to keep things cold in the cooler. Unwind in the cozy seating area under the loft, perfect for curling up with a book, watching a movie on the Amazon Fire TV, or enjoying engaging conversations with your travel companions. Outside, a handcrafted deck beckons you to embrace the fresh mountain air. Relax in the comfortable swing or fire up the barbecue grill for a delightful outdoor cooking experience. There’s a fire pit out front and we provide the wood, so enjoy some s’mores and smiles as the day comes to an end. The surrounding woods offer endless opportunities for exploration and adventure. Lace up your hiking boots and venture out on nearby trails, immersing yourself in the breathtaking landscapes and diverse wildlife. In the winter months, embrace the magic of a snowy wonderland with cross-country skiing or snowshoeing. Just a short drive to historic Philipsburg, Granite Ghost Town, Discovery Ski Area, famous Rock Creek fly fishing, hiking, boating and Skalkaho Falls. Ollie, the gulch guardian, will be close by throughout your stay, as it is his job to protect the homestead and he takes it very seriously. He is a big furry snuggle-loving pup who loves everyone, and every dog he meets is his new best friend. He does bark a bit at night, he wants to keep you safe from critters, but we do our best to keep him busy during the day and bring him in at night so he’s not a bother. Our spot is very quiet and secluded, but we do have a few neighbors that live full time out here, so there may be a car that drives by from time to time and we ask that you drive slow past the other houses. Whether you're an avid hunter, a passionate angler, or simply seeking a peaceful retreat in the heart of nature, our off-grid cabin offers an unforgettable experience. Book your stay today and embark on an unforgettable journey reconnecting with the beauty of the great outdoors.
