Or relax at the beautifully landscaped 6 acre oceanfront Islander on the Beach Resort, where you will find my 2nd floor ocean view end unit condo, #222. Enjoy air conditioned comfort inside the 372sf studio or relax with ocean breezes on the roomy lanai (balcony) while reading a book or sipping a beverage on the welcoming bistro set. Comfort and style inside include travertine floors, granite counters, queen bed with Bamboo sheets , full size sofa. Prepare small meals with the microwave, blender, toaster oven, and mini-fridge with freezer compartment, New Apartment size fridge as well, coffee maker and tea kettle also. Nearby BBQs give nice cooking options instead of eating out every night. Enjoy your barbecued food at the adjacent picnic tables or while lounging at the beach, pool, or spa. Lobby offers refillable water station. (No need for plastic bottled water) You'll find a bar for tropical drinks and music poolside while next door are more dining and drinking choices. Unit #222 is a 30 second walk to The beach! First class shopping is located just down the street at the Coconut Marketplace, as well as Costco in Lihue, Safeway across the street & local restaurants within walking distance from the resort, you can walk to downtown Kapaa where you will find plenty of restaurants, or rent a bike and hit the Kauai Coast Bike Path which starts at the resort and runs 7+ miles north right along the coast (riding bikes is one of the most raved things to do along the coastline) The Princeville Resort, Golf Digests #1 Golf Course in Hawaii, is just 20 minutes to the North and Wailua Golf Course 3 miles to the south, on the beach. For those who are looking for adventure, Kauai has all there is to offer. If an oceanic or water experience is what you are looking for, you may choose to explore the Napali scenic tour, Wailua River Cruise, Kauai kayaking, or a number of sunset dinner cruises. The island also offers endless snorkeling and scuba diving as well as exciting mountain river tubing through tunnels (flash light hats provided). For those that want to stay on land, Kauai offers ATV tours, horseback riding, hiking the lush rain forests or beautiful waterfalls, multiple zip line excursions, or any of the authentic luaus may be the island experience for you!! To top it all off, an aerial tour of the 'Garden Isle' via helicopter or airplane is a view to always remember & your only 10 minutes north of the Heliport in Lihue. Don't forget your camera as the Waimea Canyon Experience and the array of beautiful waterfalls will take your breath away. This Islander on the Beach, Beachfront Resort condominium is a perfect option for the Kauai traveler wanting a central location and everything you need in a Kauai vacation rental. Guest access You can arrive at the suite at any hour after the designated check in time. If the front desk is closed, you can call security to issue you a parking pass or you can go straight to the room and get the parking pass in the morning. You have full use of the pool, hot tub, and barbecues. Don't forget to relax at the Tiki Bar too. Other things to note The Neighborhood Adjacent to Coconut Marketplace including an ABC Store with gourmet market, restaurants, hula lessons, and shops. The popular Trees Lounge and Lava Lava Beach Club are next door for some cool libations, tasty pupus(appetizers), and local music. Easy walk to more shops, drug store, groceries, and restaurants in Kapaa town. Next door to bike and kayak rentals store. Nearby laundromat in town. My fridge has a freezer and there is an ice machine on first floor across the walk way and a cooler to help make your road trips more comfortable. The golden beaches of the Coconut Coast may be the area's biggest draw. Unwind at Anahola Beach Park, whale watch at Donkey Beach, or join the surfers at Kealia Beach to the north. 3 waterfalls are less than 15 minutes away. Lydgate Beach Park in Wailua has two lava rock enclosed ocean pools that are perfect places for families and first-time snorkelers. The beach at the resort is best for walking. My suite is located in a quiet part of the resort...not too close to the pool or shops but close enough to access easily. Being on the 2nd floor means lots of privacy and views of the ocean and surrounding lush grounds. Getting Around DIRECTIONS FROM AIRPORT: 7.4 miles – about 15 minutes From Lihue Airport (LIH) to Islander on the Beach Resort Leaving the airport stay in the right lane and turn right going NORTH on Highway 51 (Kapule Hwy). It becomes Highway 51 or Kuhio Hwy, 1.5 miles north of the Airport. Continue north on Highway 51 for 4.1 miles into the town of Wailua. Turn RIGHT into Coconut Marketplace on Aleka Loop. Turn RIGHT at the stop sign and continue behind the Coconut Marketplace and the Islander on the Beach Resort will be 1/8 mile down on your left. Park in any of the free parking spaces and pick up a parking pass at the front desk. Other Things to Note -Hawaii tax of 14.962% plus 3% Kauai tax will be added onto the nightly rate and cleaning fee and will be collected with your payment -There are no parking, WiFi, or resort fees once you arrive. Hurray! -There is no daily maid service but there is a contact number should you require extra cleaning. For stays longer than a week, we can arrange for a midstay tidy at an additional cost. Frequently Asked Questions FAQ • Is this a 1 bedroom condominium? The Islander on the Beach is a condotel managed by Aston. All of the rooms are individually owned with some being rented by Aston, and others like mine, being rented out by the individual owners or offsite property managers. My suite is studio size: 372 square feet with a lanai. Most units are about this size and have similar furnishings. There is a kitchenette in the room: fridge with freezer, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker, and blender. Use the outdoor barbeques to expand your dining options and I have ice packs with a cooler for cool drinks and snacks on the go. A nice Laundromat is just south of Foodland (behind Monicos) and is clean with coin machines available. • What's the difference between my suite, renting from Aston, or some other travel agency or website? The difference is price and choice of room. My suite is less expensive overall and is a 2nd floor end unit with ocean views in the Hawaii building so you know exactly what you are getting. I also take more care in ensuring my suite is updated and maintained thoroughly. You will not have maid service during your stay but we stock plenty of towels(bath and beach), tissues, toilet paper, and toiletries to ensure your comfort. You can contact me if you would like additional supplies or any extra cleaning services. • Is this an ocean view suite? YES. And it is not just visible out on the lanai sticking your head around the corner but can also be enjoyed from inside the suite. • Is there a kitchen? It is a mini kitchen with microwave, toaster oven, blender, bar sized fridge with freezer, and Brand new apartment size fridge with Freezer ,coffee maker, kettle, toaster oven ,BBQs are located next to the pool.(2 minute walk) • What is there to do? For short stays, you may want to keep it simple and stay at the resort for a relaxing time and walk over to the Coconut Marketplace or into Kapaa town. Lava Lava is right next door, and the Hukilau on the other side of #222. For longer stays, you will want a car to explore the beautiful scenery and variety found on Kauai. Book a rental car ahead of time since they are sometimes in short supply. You may find Alamo with the best rates • What is the bedding arrangement? The suite is ideal for maximum 4 people...a queen size bed and full size sleeper sofa. • Do we need our own beach towels? There are beach towels in the room • Is there a resort fee? If you are booking directly from an owner like myself, there is no resort fee. If you book from Aston, there is about a $20/day fee. • What about WiFi? High speed wired or WiFi internet is free in the room • Does the suite have air conditioning? Yes. And nice ocean breezes. The ceiling fan(or small desk fan) will also offer natural cooling if you don't want A/C • Where is suite #222 located? It is on the east end of the 3 story Hawaii building, 2nd floor. The view of the ocean is to the northeast and spectacular. It is accessible by 1 flight of stairs as there are no elevators at the resort. There is an ice machine nearby.
