The cows want to meet you at New Day Dairy’s GuestBarn! Cow gaze 24/7 while “sleeping with cows” in modern comfort! Our loft features 2 large windows overlooking 150 cows munching their “cow salad”, lounging on the “beach”, or heading to be milked by “Rita the Robot”! Guests are fascinated by following one of the colored cow's life in the barn while cow gazing. Get close to the cows & calves on guided intro & farewell barn tours! Here you'll find New Adventures, Authentic Cows, and Comfy Beds! The GuestBarn has three bedrooms each with their own private bathrooms along with a loft with 24/7 cow gazing. The main level includes a fully equipped kitchen and dining space. The loft also has a small reading/TV nook. You'll have 24/7 cow gazing access plus the evening of your arrival we'll take you to see the cows up close and visit Rita the Robot on a half-hour introductory tour. Your farewell tour the morning you leave is another great time to grab a cow selfie or ask questions. We also provide a DIY continental breakfast that features hard boiled eggs, yogurt, bagels, authentic Dutch pastries (made by our Dutch dairy farmer neighbor), and more!! Guests have access to entire space including bedrooms & bathrooms as well as the common spaces in the kitchen, dining area, and loft space. Outside they can enjoy the porch, patio, and our country drive. Guests are NOT allowed in the barn, near calf area, or in pasture unless with a farm tour guide. This is for our guests safety as even the nicest animal can be unpredictable and machinery does need to operate on the farm. Of course, our insurance likes this too. We live on the same property and because we're a working farm are typically around caring for the cows - and you'll see it all from the loft windows! Need something? Have a question? Just let us know. Plus, we can't wait to give you an in person tour in the barn! * COVID Note: We do wear masks while giving the Intro & Farewell Tours in-person. Our country neighborhood has gravel roads, a veggie & flower stand, and a model train museum. Take a walk down our private drive, enjoy lunch at Lizzy Lous in Clarksville or East Bremer Diner in Waverly. Enjoy Rolling Prairie Bike Trail with over 28+ miles of paved trail just a mile down the road from us. You'll need a vehicle you're willing to drive on gravel to get here. In the winter (Dec-Mar typically), a 4WD or AWD vehicle is recommended as the gravel roads & our driveway can become snow-packed and icy. It's all part of the authentic farmstay experience. Included in every stay is a 30+ minute introductory tour the evening you arrive and a 30+ minute farewell tour the morning you depart. We'll take you up close to the cows, meet Rita the Robot in person, and pet a baby calf! Plus, we know you'll have a few questions too. Does our "cleaning fee" seem high? That's because it's a cleaning & tour fee that's spread out across your stay. We want to give everyone the opportunity to #sleepwiththecows so we allow one night stays and our "cleaning fee" is where the tour fee is included as well. Whether you stay one or 5 nights we'll give you an Intro & Farewell Tour to meet the cows, calves, & Rita - cow gazing is open 24/7 from your loft the entire stay!! If you have less than 6 people but plan to use the flip-flop couch or pull-out chair for sleeping we require that we provide appropriate bedding for while sleeping at the additional person rate of $10/sleeping area. PLEASE let us know this in advance. Thank You. * COVID Note: We are happy to wear masks while giving tours - just let us know your comfort level and we'll adjust to wearing a mask or letting you see our face.
