Be weather-aware before you come and pack accordingly. The roads to the community are county-maintained. Shining Mtn Loop, the main road in the community, is also county-maintained. My house is about a half mile off Shining Mtn Loop; those roads are HOA-maintained. HOA does a good job with the roads, but AWD or 4x4 is recommended in winter or capable winter-rated tires. There are snow shovels at the house, along with ice melt. Just be prepared that some roads and the driveway may not be plowed until it is impassable with the above-mentioned vehicles. Plowing is also not done until after the storm. Snow drifting can also be a problem. Just wanted you to know. That said, winter, when it clears, is the most beautiful time to visit. Other things available in the kitchen that are not listed in the amenities. There is a countertop oven that is stored in the cabinet under the kitchen island. In that cabinet, there is also an air fryer along with a pancake griddle. In the laundry room, there are numerous bottles of unexpired bear spray left by me or a prior guest. I cannot guarantee they will be here when you check in, but you may want to check before purchasing them. There are outdoor security cameras, but none indoors. Cell service is ok but can be spotty depending on the carrier. The home has high-speed Wi-Fi for WiFi calling when reception is poor. ** If this is an instant book, I will get a notice. If I get the booking and notice I don't have a service secured, such as a house cleaner, snow removal, etc., or if I have a double booking. I will reach out to you, advise you of the situation, and try to provide a solution. Ultimately, I may have to cancel the instant booking. I usually message the instant booking right back to confirm it. Remember, at times I may be out of service, and it may take me a day or two to respond.**
