The Bunkhouse/Authentic Montana Ranch Stay – Horses, Wildlife and Big Sky Views Wake up on a working 200-acre Montana ranch surrounded by mountains, wildlife, and open skies. Meet horses, say hello to Sammie the Bernese Mountain Dog, and experience real ranch life. Unwind by the firepit, explore private trails or ride the land – this is Montana, the way it was meant to be. The space The Ranch Experience This is a working ranch, where we raise horses and hay. You may see daily ranch life in action depending on the season, from haying to caring for animals, to irrigation or fence repair, it’s a glimpse into a way of life that’s real, grounded, and deeply connected to the land. You’ll also meet Sammie, our friendly Bernese Mountain dog, who loves greeting guests and soaking up attention. We take pride in offering old-school hospitality – friendliness, courtesy, and a warm welcome – paired with modern comforts to make your stay relaxing and memorable. Explore the 200-acre property! Guests are invited to experience the land in a meaningful way: • Horseback riding the Ranch trails and the miles of retired logging roads in the adjacent Lolo National Forest. • Hike the marked trails on the Ranch and the Lolo Forest. We have available 2-way radios and hiking poles. • Take a side-by-side tour showcasing the regeneration work we’ve done on the land. • Learn about the history of the Ranch and the area. This is more than a stay – it’s a chance to connect with Montana’s land, history and lifestyle. Wildlife and Nature Nature is right outside your door. It’s common to see: • Deer and elk moving through the fields and meadows • Wild turkeys and upland birds • Big Horn Mountain sheep on your drive into the Ranch and the rocky cliffs behind the ranch • Hawks and eagles soaring overhead • The occasional coyote or bear at a distance Evenings bring unforgettable sunsets, star-filled skies and a true Big Sky quiet.
