Although the main room of this space was built mostly in 2020, it has the feel of an historic old home. It is adjoined to what was the master bedroom of an old vintage home. With high vaulted ceiling, antique natural wood abounds, bamboo flooring, cedar walls, this space is elegant and profound. The exterior wall of the former master bedroom was exposed and the old cypress ship-lap wall was left as it was found when the vinyl siding was removed. With an enchanted garden courtyard just outside The space Elegant and charming, with a grand large post oak bed, various antiques, french doors, a kitchenette with microwave, coffee maker and mini fridge, this unit is breathtaking. Huge wood ceiling fans, lots of rescued aged lumber, antique beams adorning the cedar covered ceiling, this room is abundant in grandeur. This is a two room unit with a large 16x16 bedroom with vaulted ceiling, adjoined to another large room with a soft leather sofa. This unit has a full bathroom and corner commode, with large walk in shower hidden away behind closet doors. There are large smart TVs in each room. Just outside is a breathtaking cozy and charming french quarter style courtyard and garden area. The courtyard is equipped with a small stage, lots of mood lighting and a fountain with a variety of fish. Guest access Free parking right outside the unit. We are 2 miles off I-10, 2 miles from Airline hwy. Wal-Mart is 5 miles away, with lots of great restaurants within minutes of the place. 60 miles from downtown New Orleans, 13 miles from LSU. 8 miles from Lamar Dixon. Although this new room is well insulated, you may hear traffic on the main road at times. Other things to note There is another unit on the other side of the property. Though the units are attached, we installed a double wall/door system with lots of sound proofing materials to ensure privacy. If other guests are in the other unit you may hear them on their garden deck, but the spaces are separated by a fence. We do ask that all guests maintain normal sound levels. Smoking is allowed in the courtyard, but we ask that ashtrays are left clean with no signs left behind. There is a third unit way in the back of the property, so please never block the driveway or venture back in the areas of the other units.
