Or, central location allows for easy adventure chasing as your home base. Only vaccinated guests or those who have had COVID may book, non-smoker, vegan cooking and dog lovers, but not required. -The space has no A/C and is cooled only by fans and the tradewinds. So, for those who prefer very cool air, this is not the space for you. -No more than 3 guests in studio at any one time, because this is not a party house. -The plumbing in the house is very fragile and will explode if anything other than toilet paper is used in the toilet. Sand should be removed outside with a hose. The hair catch in the drains should be used and hair removed, thank you. -Ants, roaches and flies are a common occurrence in our tropical climate. Therefore, as this is a fact of island life, no refunds will be made as this is not a factor of cleanliness. We are disclosing this to you in booking. -The solar water heater will only work well when there is bright sun during the day. The manual override works, up to a point. Therefore, if itʻs raining or cloudy, the water may not be super hot. E mālama pono this space, as this is a long-term rental, the unit must be cleaned even better than when you arrived. The cleaning fee is for supplies and wear and tear. There is no cleaning service, and you are expected to clean the space and keep it bug-free. We are not a hotel. Plenty of street parking in front and to the side of the house. Downstairs studio with private entrance has a small patio on the side. Enclosed driveway provides safety and security. No parking for guest vehicles of any kind on premises. I live on the property, and will be available as needed during the pandemic. - This is an older, quiet, residential neighborhood with not much going on. Very quiet, safe, and lots of street parking. We park on the street and leave the secured driveway open for guests. Please remember to close the gate. - This is not a party house, we respect the `āina (land), local culture and native peoples. All guests must have a shared respect for the Islands and the people. - There are dogs nearby, and one on the property. - The solar heating may not produce extremely hot water on overcast days. - There is protocol for trash disposal and food waste. Everything should be in an enclosed plastic bag before placing in the outside bins. Food waste especially, must be wrapped securely. All recyclables must be cleaned completely before throwing out. - Being on a tropical island, there are many bugs and critters in the neighborhood. - `Aiea is located in the center of the Island, allowing for explorations in a timely manner, depending on traffic. - There are illegal fireworks that are often exploded from time to time. This is an Island-wide occurrence, especially on New Yearʻs eve, July 4th and at the end of football games. However, they can happen at any time. The Bus is just down the hill from the house by 3 blocks. Lyft and Uber is $25 to/from airport and are always readily available. We also offer a 2014 silver Toyota Prius available for rent for $45 a day, please inquire. All guests are requested to have a valid COVID vaccination or have had COVID. Non smokers only, if you smoke, please book elsewhere. Also, if you do not believe in COVID, please book elsewhere. Illegal fireworks are often exploded in the neighborhood for football games, the Fourth of July and on New Yearʻs Eve. This can be very uncomfortable and disconcerting, so please be advised.
