Description
Enjoy stunning sunrises and sunsets at Hangin’ Heart Ranch, nestled in the peaceful countryside west of Great Falls—10 to 15 min. from town. This cozy, one-of-a-kind home sleeps 2 adults (*possibly up to 4) and features high-speed internet, a small workspace, HD TV, well-equipped kitchen, and front-load washer/dryer. Best of all, soak under a star-filled sky in the hot tub right outside your door. *Need space for an extra guest or two? Let us know—we may be able to offer a pull-out sofa bed. The space This is an excellent property for your vacation or business needs. Great Falls is called "Montana’s Basecamp for Art & Adventure," this is your perfect basecamp! You will stay in our cozy western “Guest House,” framed by the southern bluffs just west of Great Falls. This unique home is made of Adobe and Log—not the average Airbnb house or apartment! Our "guest house" was our home for almost two years! We stayed in it while building our log home on another ranch parcel. When we moved into the log home, we set up the guest house as a private and memorable place for our family and friends who "go out west" to visit and vacation. So, this home away from home was done with love and attention to detail. Now it's your turn to stretch out and make yourself at home! Unpack your clothes on the hangers provided in the bedroom's spacious closet and your toiletries in the equally spacious bathroom. Then start relaxing in the Base Camp of Your Adventures. Enjoy a charming bedroom with a log bed and furniture. Additionally, the couch has a queen sleeper mattress and is in view of the gas-free-standing fireplace (a memory foam topper is provided for added comfort). All mattresses were hand-picked for the comfort of our own family, friends, and you! When you enter the home, you can’t miss the hand-peeled lodgepole ceiling in a herringbone design between the exposed log beams, making it beautiful and rustic. This is a western ranch home in the middle of a quiet countryside setting. Read on for more details and information, or message us. This perfect location puts you out of town but only ten to fifteen minutes from the airport, downtown shopping, restaurants, museums, pubs, tap rooms, major grocery stores, a fresh market, an organic grocery store, an Air Force base, and much more of what Great Falls has to offer. Drive a bit further and see the beautiful Great Falls of the Missouri River at Ryan Dam or the shortest river in the world, The Roe River, at Giant Springs State Park. One of our favorite mini adventures (season dependent) is going to dinner a couple of hours early. We take one of our canoes or our kayaks down to the Sun River access, five minutes down the road, then paddle down the Sun River to the confluence with the Missouri River, and from there, you are a ten-minute paddle to either McKenzie River Pizza or Applebee's on the river. If you want more choices, stash the boats and take a short walk to The Celtic Cowboy or one of the other downtown restaurants. Is Western art up your alley? The ranch was originally owned by the famed western bronze sculptor Jay Contway. His bronze casting foundry and log cabin, which housed his wax studio, are still here, and you can experience the same western setting that helped inspire many of his works exhibited at the world-renowned C.M. Russell Art Museum. If you are headed to Montana for the great outdoors, Great Falls is a MONTANA SUPER HOST COMMUNITY and is the only international airport in Central Montana. Great Falls is also centrally located right between Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks. Lakes, rivers, and mountains abound. Right in town is the convergence of the Missouri and Sun Rivers. If you want to escape the crowds, look no further than our favorite mountain range, The Rocky Mountains, which is less than one hour’s drive to the west. They are the gateway to the largest designated Wilderness area in the lower 48 states, the Bob Marshall Wilderness Complex. There are hundreds of miles for hiking, backpacking, and horseback riding, where you can find solitude on the trail. Yes, you are staying on a ranch, so anticipate visits from the alpacas, cows and horses. With livestock comes poop, so please be aware of where you step and expect to see some random waste piles. We are a short drive out of town, so insects can abound in the summer, depending on the weather. If these things bother you, please look to staying at an Airbnb in town. Phenomenal outdoor recreational activities and adventures are just waiting for you. The possibilities are endless. We are experienced in almost all that Montana’s Big Sky Country offers. Contact us before renting canoes, kayaks, or rafts or paying for outdoor services. We have five generations of Montana family history and chose to stay here because of the great outdoors. We get it and can be an excellent resource for your excursions. Thank you for considering THE HANGIN' HEART! Guest access The price listed includes the "Guest House" area and yard. The patio is a perfect place to watch the sunrise or sunset. It is also ideal for having a relaxing dinner made on the outdoor grill or in the kitchen. That being said, The Hangin' Heart can be an a la carte stay. If you need more room to roam, please don't hesitate to let us know. This is a reminder that you have been approved and have booked our guest house. Please do not invite other guests to stay on our property without our approval. No parties or events are authorized without our approval, and no cars other than those that apply to your reservation are approved without our approval.
