Farm stay in Hawaii County
Description
We want to welcome you to our Eco-Friendly farm on the northern slopes of lofty Mauna Kea, an extinct Hawaiian volcano. The property is graced with many mature tropical plants, palms, bamboo, flowers, and trees, and has an extensive Pacific Ocean view. The farm produces a surplus of varied tropical fruits, and there is always something in season. Our place is off-grid and unconnected to outside utilities. Join us and feel the freedom and aloha here. The space Crooked Nail Farm House is available for your stay. The approximately 1000 sq ft structure is built on piers, elevating it for spectacular views of the Hamakua Coast and surrounding property. The house has large windows, which help with ventilation and provide plenty of sunlight. The large enclosed deck is perfect for activities or lounging, protected from the sun and frequent rain showers. It is an additional living and dining room with a beautiful ocean view. The house is well-appointed with two large and one smaller bedroom, accommodating five people. The full bathroom has a walk-in shower. For all stays, we provide the basics (toilet paper, paper towels, shampoo, and conditioner) to get you started on your vacation. It is up to the guests to replenish as needed. The entire interior of the house is wheelchair accessible and has recently been refurbished, and the kitchen has new countertops and redone cabinetry. We provide essential kitchen items and spices, including a few curry spices. Unfortunately, our rental does not have a TV; however, you can connect to the complimentary WiFi network (STARLINK). If you are planning on working remotely, this is a perfect place. Guest access Guests have full access around the house; however, since this is a working farm with the usual fences, machinery, and obstructions, we ask our guests to stay near the rental unit. Other things to note This property is conveniently located just a short 30-minute drive North of Hilo town along the incredibly gorgeous Hamakua coast. We have toiled to make the Crooked Nail a peaceful place of variety and abundance. The property is graced with many mature tropical plants, palms, bamboo, flowers, and trees, and possesses an extensive view of the Pacific Ocean. The farm produces a surplus of varied tropical fruits, and there is always something in season. Included in the lineup are expected delicacies like avocado, pineapple, oranges, apply, banana, and mango, as well as practically unknown treats such as mangosteen, sapote, lychee, longan, langsat, and soursop. Of course, a small farm must include a few animal friends, so several varieties of chickens, Indian runner ducks, and border collies roam at will. Earplugs are provided for your further comfort if the sounds of nature (coqui frog, braying donkeys, and roosters) and the neighborhood goats and cows are loud at times. The host is not responsible for, nor can we control, the nature activities surrounding the rental, including the sounds of coqui frogs, toads, horses, cows, wild pigs, or crickets. No refunds will be granted if the guest is unhappy with natural sounds outside the rental. The spacious lanai provides a perfect spot to enjoy your morning coffee or unwind after a day of exploring the island. Imagine relaxing on the lanai with a book or soaking up the warm Hawaiian sun while gazing at the beautiful view of the ocean. Registration Details TA-121-050-4192-01
