Shaka Hale is centrally located on the east side of the island. You are also a 5 minute walk to Coconut Marketplace with restaurants and shopping. Another 5 minute walk takes you to a small beach where you can get amazing sunrise views. All the beach supplies you need are ready for you to use in the condo. A percent of all bookings are donated to Habitat for Humanity Kauai so you know your stay is helping provide affordable housing for residents of the island. Most of the furniture has been replaced recently and most of the walls have been painted. The bedroom has brand new memory foam queen sized beds. The sofa bed also has a brand new mattress. The bedroom and living room have a Roku streaming device where you can sign into any of your streaming services. There is also basic cable. If you’re planning on getting some work done, the side table can be utilized as a small desk. The nightly rate includes all the beach equipment you will need like an umbrella, 2 chairs, wagon, boogie boards and towels. Renting those items would cost about $30 a day! One floor below the unit is a laundry room with brand new machines that you pay through the WASH Connect app. There are 3 pools and 2 hot tubs on the property that you will have full access to. There are also gas BBQs available to use on the property. During your stay on the island, you will have contact information for a person who lives on the island for any emergencies or urgent questions. Kapaa is a laid back town with a growing food scene and great shopping options. There is a Safeway close by as well as Longs. But in addition, there are so many great local small businesses to get groceries, meals, coffee, baked good or shave ice from. Boutiques line the main street along with your traditional gift shops as well. Some of our favorites are Java Kai, Pono Market, Pono Coffee and Bakery, Kountry Kitchen, Tiki Tacos, Bubbas Burgers, Paco’s Tacos, Matcha Ya, Papayas Natural Foods, Mermaids Cafe...just to name a few. I highly recommend renting a car. However, Uber is available. There are also several bike rental companies in Kapaa and within walking distance of the condo. The beach that is a 5 minute walk away is not suitable for swimming but it’s a great spot to watch a sunrise!
