Private bedroom in a finished basement. Private entrance. Shared bathroom only if a guest books the other room. This is a cross between a hotel (private clean room), staying with your friend (surprise treats in the mini fridge and coffee and tea!) and a hostel (shared bathroom with **security cameras** outside of the home and the high probability of hearing noise from above the ceiling.) NOTE: this house is on the market and subject to showings The space The not great stuff: *There are no stairs to the basement. You must walk down a sloped hill to the basement entrance. View pictures. *We do NOT shovel snow here, we drive over it and walk through it *There will be noise from upstairs from 8am to 7pm from our footsteps or dog. *Our home is on the market and could have a showing during daytime hours but we always have plenty of notice If any of these undesirable traits are not ideal for you, we would prefer that you spend a few more dollars to book a stay elsewhere. Now for the GREAT stuff: **The queen mattress has been raved about by all of our guests for years **This is a private room and the only person you will encounter would be a potential guest in the other room or the cleaners between bookings. **There is a fan and space heater to help you find your comfortable temperature as well as an extra blanket. **The bathroom (shared only with a potential other guest) features a large shower along with double sinks. **There is no cleaning fee with this listing! We asked you to treat our home like you would your own and clean up after yourself so that we can continue to keep costs low and help people travel affordably. **We have a small coffee station and mini fridge area set up for guests and I often set some extra treats or goodies in the fridge to share. Guest access You have access to your entryway, hallways, 1 bedroom, and bathroom. we have also cleaned up a small kitchenette area which includes a full size fridge and sink. CLOSETS, STORAGE SPACES, AND THE REST OF THE HALLWAY IS OFF LIMITS TO GUESTS. The 2nd bedroom is for other guests. You will not have access to our main levels of the home or our kitchen. During your stay We previously hosted for about 8 years in our home. We loved meeting new people and interacting with them. Being hosts of a "private" area is new for us. We are open to communicating as little or as much as you'd like when we are home. We love meeting in passing in the driveway :) Other things to note there are security cameras in our private areas and outside the home. We do NOT shovel snow to/from the unit entrance OR in the driveway. Please plan accordingly if you decide to book with us. There is no snow removal or path made on the rare occasion when it snows. Your area is mostly private other than a guest that could possibly book in the other room. Because our dog is not dog/animal friendly, we are not able to host animals of any kind due to safety concerns. There are fans available to create white noise. We provide ear plugs until they run out (by the bathroom). The possible discomfort of hearing us on the main level of the house is reflected in the listing price Due to insurance policies, we are NOT permitted to allow guests to use the washer, dryer, or kitchen appliances.
