The space The property consists of two buildings; the front house where the owner has a home-based office offering acupuncture services during the day (ask about scheduling a treatment while with us)! The rear house has its own separate exterior entrance to "Pine-A-Terre". Despite being a lower-level area, the space is light, bright and clean with lots of full-sized windows, high ceilings, central air conditioning/heat as well as radiant floor. Parking also now available for one car. Guest access There are so many ways to get to us and our local beaches and attractions! Local taxis, UBER and LYFT are active on the island, but we are also walking distance to the airport, Old South bike path and a local bike rental shop. The local bus system (Nantucket Regional Transit Authority-Download the "TransLoc" app for details) offers the "WAVE" bus (Free this year!) that stops one street before and one street after Pine Tree (at Mary Ann Dr. and Macy Ln). There is a bike rack on location for rented manual or electric bikes. Bike rental companies will also drop off/pick up bike rentals to the address if needed! Other things to note Owners are on premises, conscientious, and invested in you having a comfortable stay! Like you, we enjoy travel and realize how much cleanliness is important, (we have even included an extra UV-C and HEPA air filter in the bedroom!) We look forward to helping you explore the island and enjoying your time out to sea :) Please remember that travel to the island can sometimes be challenging. Ferries and planes (which are our only means to get to/from the island) are weather and mechanical issue dependent. If its too foggy, planes can be delayed or cancelled and if seas are too rough our ferries won't go. Please consider travel insurance when coming to Nantucket to help you in recovering your expenses related to travel delays which can make it difficult to get (or sometimes leave) the island. We also recommend checking the weather before and during your travel times to the island and making ferry/plane reservations well in advance while also thinking about a back up plan JUST IN CASE! Bus routes are available through the Nantucket Regional Transit Authority (NRTA) and are locally called "The Wave". The TransLoc app has livestreaming routes with arrival/departure times. We are one street over from the Airport and the Sconset via Old South Rd. routes. Bikes can be delivered and picked up from the house but we are within walking distance to Island Bike at 25 Old South Rd. Restaurants within walking distance: Crosswinds at the Airport, Roasted (take out full meals, coffees and local staples) at the gas station, Casa Real (Latin American), Fusaro's (Italian), wine bar at the Nantucket Inn, Espresso to go (Coffee and grab and go Sandwiches), Nantucket Meat and Fish (local produce and grab and go sandwiches, coffee and sushi), Pip and Anchor (Local organics/farm grown and daily breakfast and lunch specials), The Hive (take out via locker system from multiple restaurants-Thai food, Italian, dumplings, etc), Nantucket Thai House (take out only) The Trading Post (take out coffee and Latin American offerings), Old South Diner (takeout pizza, subs and other daily offerings and Yezzi's/Two Scoops ice cream (take out sandwiches and a Roast Beef Sandwich to die for!)
