The space A three-bedroom house on two floors (referred to as either upstairs or downstairs) which consists of: 3 bedrooms upstairs, plus a bonus playroom downstairs adjacent to the dining room with a single bed (but no door to close off to the dining room), a full bathroom upstairs with a shower-tub combination, a brand-new full bath downstairs with a shower and a Swiss bidet, a living room downstairs, a dining room downstairs with a generous solid-wood acacia table that can seat a whole party for a festive dinner, but is just as amazing for working on your laptop with a fresh cup of coffee and warm croissants from the neighborhood bakery Athan’s on Washington street. A laundry room downstairs with a large and smart LG washer (5 cu. ft.) and dryer (7.4 cu. ft.). Try the “normal” cycle and have the artificial intelligence washer figure out what you’re washing and do it for you at turbo speeds. The playroom downstairs connected to the dining room with a bed doesn’t compromise on your comfort, because sometimes you need an extra bed without stairs to get to or just for some space. The Airbnb platform doesn’t have a room type called playroom, so the single bed in the playroom is listed under the living room, but you can see from the pictures that it’s in the playroom next to the dining room. A kitchen downstairs that is well-stocked with dinnerware and flatware for grownups of all ages, kids, and babies. With stainless steel cookware, bakeware, and gadgets. We have two solid-wood high chairs: one junior for older toddlers, and one padded Stokke Tripp Trapp high chair from Sweden for babies who can already sit. Please monitor your child as we have removed the restraints. Guest access Yours to use is this 1500 sq ft house. Most closets are locked and have linen and housekeeping supplies. The attic stores our personal items. The bedroom with the King size bed has an open wardrobe and dresser. The full bathroom upstairs has a closet accessible to guests. You have the “entire place” to yourself as per Airbnb definition, even though the owner has access to the basement apartment through a separate entrance. Most times, the owner is traveling for work during your stay. Other things to note Sleep on luxurious Casper King size and Queen size mattresses, on a Helix Full size mattress, and on a plush Leesa Twin sized mattress. The bunk bed has a memory foam Zinus mattress on top and a Leesa mattress on the bottom. All our mattresses rest on flexible European comfort slats, even the lower bunk bed. The top bunk bed is an exception due to required safety rail height. All beds have waterproof mattress enclosures and waterproof mattress pads. The crib mattress also has a waterproof mattress protector under the fitted sheet, and several backup mattress protectors and fitted sheets. For older toddlers, a bumper is available to reduce the risk of rollouts. Keep your young children occupied in the stocked play kitchen and in the playroom with non-toxic toys and board books, within eyesight of the kitchen and of the living room. They likely will also go in a loop as most rooms on the main floor are connected for a good flow. Central heating with smart Nest thermostats senses when you’re at home to keep you comfortable, and saves energy when you’re out and about. We have a number of supplies to make your stay more relaxing with your little ones: a crib, blackout shades plus room darkening curtains, cute nightlights, a number of top-rated soothing sound machines (we have a whole selection). Our dead-end street is remarkably quiet for a city. We are very lucky with the location, yet it’s convenient and close to so many things in Boston, Brookline, Cambridge, and Newton. Dogs older than 6 months are allowed on the first floor (that’s the ground floor) and within our fenced yard. Please no animals on the top floor where the three bedrooms are, and not in the playroom. We have permanently installed discreet baby gates from Denmark that not only work great for young children, but can also keep your dog from climbing up the stairs. There’s a fairly large park up one street (at the end of Bostonia Ave), we recommend this park for taking the dog for a quick walk. The nearest playground is down the hill behind the YMCA. Once you reach the Charles River, you can walk, run, or bike on the paths along the river all the way to downtown. A Swiss Jura automatic coffee machine grinds and brews delicious espresso-grade coffee by the cup with the push of a button, it then rinses itself clean. Just add water. Then enjoy in the Le Creuset mugs. For brewing of a whole 32 oz (1L or 8 cups) thermal carafe, a precisely engineered Moccamaster coffee brewer is waiting at the push of a button. It is handmade in the Netherlands and certified to brew to the strict standards of the European Coffee Brewing Center (ECBC) and the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA). A Jura Capresso Burr Grinder, milk frother, and a French Press are also available. There’s a made in Japan Zojirushi induction rice cooker. If you are a fan of the instapot, we have one in the kitchen with recipe books and more supplies than I’ve ever tried. Bread bakers will find artisan bread-baking recipe books and equipment to make bread from scratch in an enameled cast iron dutch oven. Child safety has always been very important to us: Almost all low-positioned wall outlets have child safety plugs. All rooms (including the playroom) where guests sleep are equipped with hard-wired smart nest protect smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. The house is certified “lead-safe”.
