Be on the lookout for deer, pheasant, fox, skunk, turkeys, and an occasional bear in the hay field with the Delaware Water Gap in the background. We are also near Blairstown, NJ, where you will find Blair Academy, pubs, diners, a brewery, and a small airport with a café. Kids and adults enjoy watching gliders and planes land and takeoff while eating at The Airport Café. The airport is located on The Paulins Kill Trail, where people, horses, and mountain bikes are permitted. It travels along the Paulins Kill River, where you may see Bald Eagles, Blue Herons, Swans, and more who call it home. You have your own large parking area with a basketball hoop at the foot of your deck. The pond area and gardens are yours to enjoy! We are available to help you get the most out of your stay. We respect your privacy, and while you are on our property, your privacy and comfort are our priority. Little, lots, or no interaction with us? Your choice, just please let us know. We are active people so in and out all day. Quiet county area with Brook Hollow Winery on one end and horse farms on the other. Most homes in Knowlton are set on 2-5 acre lots, so there are lots of green space and farms. We are located just off Exit 4 on Route 80. There is never traffic in our area. When there is Pocono traffic at the Delaware Water Gap and in PA, we know all the ways around it. Appalachian Trail Community Village - Delaware Water Gap - 5 minutes away - coffee shop, BBQ, Historic Castle Inn Tour, Antiques, Ice Cream, Live Jazz, Soba & Sake, Bakery, Grill. We love the DWG! The Historic Columbia - Portland Footbridge - 2 minutes away. Walk across the Delaware River (amazing photo opp view of the Delaware Water Gap) on a bridge built on the supports of the once longest covered bridge (washed away in 1955). On the Portland side, visit a gourmet chocolate shop, a pub, or grab some yummy grab & go eats. Ice Cream, Pubs/Bar, Grill: located 5 minutes away. Travel Center with Gas and Fast Food 3 minutes away. The Stroudsburgs are located 10 minutes away and have all stores of a typical city. Guest must have their own transportation because Uber/Lyft is spotty here. This is a rural area, so public transportation is not available. We have a dog (Bart) who lives in the front yard when we have guests, so you may not even see him. The only time you may hear him is when a package is delivered, or trash picked up on Wednesdays. For the most part he is a quiet little man. We adopted Bart in April 2019 from Georgia. He is a low to the ground Basset Hound/Australian Cattle Dog Mix. Being a rescue, we do not know what horrible experiences he had in life; therefore, we do not provide doggie visits. Four cats also live in our home and yard. While they have no access to the apartment, they do spend time in the yard. If you have cat allergies, please be aware of this.
