Stop the Clock at Stockman's
This well-maintained home, located on an acreage, allows you to step out of the fast lane and... stop the clock! Quiet, private, simple. Fling open the windows & doors to hear an occasional distant coyote or far-away train whistle. For winter, snuggle into the cozy beds with flannel sheets and electric blanket. There is an Alexa. With light carpet, fabric upholstery, and varnished woodwork, this comfortable, conservative home is best suited for adults and children at least 8 years of age. This get-away is nevertheless close to life's necessities! We are located 1 mile north of Oxford with its friendly small-town convenience store, Sale Barn sale on Tuesdays, and a delightful weekend antique shop. You will be only 5 miles west of Tiffin's several restaurants and Fareway Grocery, and 5 miles east of historic Amana. Iowa City's hospitals, sports venues, and Hancher Auditorium are 25 minutes away. Within 30-45 minutes are Cedar Rapids, Kalona and Lake McBride. Of course, to stop the clock, take black-top or gravel roads to virtually anywhere to sample Iowa's beautiful and bountiful rural countryside. Plan to kick back! Enjoy the magnificent 60’ marker oak tree just outside the back door. In summer sit on the patio and smell fresh hay and snap a picture against one of the season’s large 1-ton round hay bales Please, only outside or garage pets; be aware your dog may be distracted by squirrels. No neighboring dogs, but an occasional friendly cat might stroll through. Guests have access to the entire ground-level floor of the house with attached garage, but not the basement. Also, the outdoor area surrounding the house will be terrific for letting the children 8 and over run off steam! We are a six-sibling family. Two of us live less than 15 minutes away; phone calls are quickly returned; text messages are welcome 24/7. We understand the process of "settling in" and we want to make it fun and enjoyable for you to quickly feel comfortable in your temporary home! So that you can arrive at your leisure, the house key is in a lock box. One mile to the north is a 3-season produce stand which is surrounded by the fields from where the produce is harvested. It is a substantial produce operation with a customer base consisting of many Iowa City restaurants. You will need a vehicle. There is plenty of parking for multiple cars or pickups. Taxi, bus, train, uber do not serve the area.
