The home sits on a acre surrounded by aspens, firs, and open grassy yard where deer, moose, and other wildlife wander through regularly. It feels like a mountain retreat—quiet, private, and scenic—yet it’s only 10 minutes to Downtown Helena, Carroll College, the Capitol, the Civic Center, and all daily conveniences. Roads are plowed regularly through winter so access is never an issue. The home comfortably sleeps 9 in beds + 1 on the downstairs couch. Guest access Guests have full access to the main house and its private outdoor amenities, including the patio, grill, smoker, firepit, and yard. The play structure and picnic bench are shared spaces. Hot tub is available April through October. Parking is available on the right side of the driveway for a maximum 3 cars. If you have more than 3 cars, you can park in town and carpool to the house. There are a few low steps from the driveway to the house. On the entry level floor there are two bedrooms and a bathroom with a shower. On the lower floor there is one bedroom with a show/bath tub. The guest house above the detached garage (Oro Nest) is a separate rental with its own private areas. Other things to note Along with the magic of being located in a small, canyon village in the wilderness, there are also some other things that come along with the charm. Such as inconsistent mobile phone reception, internet service could be affected by serious storms, downed trees, etc. And of course the wilderness includes animals big and small. Keep your distance from wildlife if it visits. Keep trash indoors and doors and windows without screens closed. The hot tub is available April through October. The yard is open, meaning no fencing. Keep an eye on small children to make sure they don’t venture into the road. The home has a wood-burning stove and firepit; firewood is provided. Roads are plowed in snowy months; a standard vehicle is typically sufficient.
