Driftwood sits just steps from the pools and beach—and just steps from our ground-floor unit as well—making it incredibly easy to grab lunch, a snack or a refreshing drink without having to venture far from your room or poolside lounger. It's exactly the kind of convenience that makes it tempting to declare a resort day and go nowhere at all. POOLS, WATERFALLS & WATERSLIDE The resort's expansive tropical pool area is one of its biggest attractions, with multiple pools, cascading waterfalls, hot tubs, a kid-friendly sand-bottom pool and a 75-foot waterslide. You'll also find refreshed poolside lounging areas with premium cabanas and daybeds available for rent, plus food and drinks from Driftwood nearby. And from our ground-floor studio, getting back and forth couldn't be easier. NEWLY REMODELED 24-HOUR FITNESS CENTER If you like to keep up with your workouts while traveling, you won't have to settle for a typical small hotel gym. A GREAT HOME BASE FOR EXPLORING KAUAI One of the things we love most about Outrigger Kauai Beach Resort & Spa is its location. The resort sits on Kauai's eastern shore, less than 10 minutes from Līhuʻe Airport and conveniently positioned between the North and South Shores. That makes it easy to spend your vacation exploring different parts of the Garden Isle rather than committing yourself to one end of Kauai. Head north. Explore the South Shore. Chase waterfalls. Hike. Visit nearby towns and beaches. Or don't go anywhere at all. With beautiful pools, tropical grounds, oceanfront scenery, restaurants, drinks and resort amenities just outside your room, some of the best vacation days may be the ones when the car never leaves the parking lot. Other things to note GOOD TO KNOW BEFORE YOU BOOK We want you to know what to expect so you can settle in and start enjoying Kauai from the moment you arrive. IN-ROOM CONVENIENCES Our accommodation is a hotel-style resort studio with a mini refrigerator and Keurig coffee maker with starter coffee. Like many resort hotel rooms, it does not have a kitchen or microwave. With Ocean House, Driftwood and other dining options at or near the resort, many guests enjoy letting someone else do the cooking while they're on vacation. HOUSEKEEPING & TOWELS Because ours is a privately owned resort studio, your stay works a little differently from a traditional hotel stay and does not include daily housekeeping. Your room will be fully prepared for your arrival with fresh bath and pool towels for four guests. If you'd like a refresh during your stay, mid-stay cleaning and/or fresh towel service can easily be arranged for an additional fee with at least 24 hours' notice. PARKING If you bring a vehicle, the resort charges an overnight parking fee that is paid directly to the resort at check-in. The current rate is $40/day + tax, but parking rates are established by the resort and are subject to change. THE BEACH The resort sits directly along a beautiful stretch of Kauai coastline that's wonderful for sunrise walks, relaxing and enjoying the scenery. Because of the rocky reef and ocean conditions, swimming directly in front of the resort is generally not recommended. For swimming and snorkeling, Lydgate Beach Park is approximately 2 miles away and is a favorite nearby option. GETTING AROUND A rental car is recommended if you plan to explore Kauai. Taxis and rideshare services may also be available, and the resort offers an on-site car-rental option (more expensive than booking at the airport) for guests who only need a vehicle for part of their stay. TROPICAL CLIMATE Kauai's tropical climate is naturally humid. We provide a dehumidifier to help keep the room cooler, more comfortable and as dry as possible. To keep it operating effectively throughout your stay, we simply ask that you empty the water reservoir whenever it becomes full.
