Overlooking the beautiful Kona Coast...The Ulu Inn, Kona's first Luxury Geodesic Dome says: "Aloha". Located in historic Holualoa, home of World Famous Kona Coffee, your stay will awaken your senses. Our 5 acre farm boast amazing panoramic views, is situated with a rural feel, but is less than 10 minutes from all the conveniences of Kailua-Kona stores, restaurants and adventures. Goats, Pigs, Geckos & wild birds roam the property and add to the peace you are sure to find here on the farm. The Geodesic dome is 23ft (7m) in circmferemce with the ceiling rising almost 20ft High. Blackout curtains provide privacy from the expansive window as well as shade to keep the dome cooled during the day. Being at an elevation of 1400ft (426m) it is often cool in the mornings and evenings, so having open windows and doors usually keeps the dome cool. We have also provided a portable A/C unit to assist with the cool down if needed. Your private bathroom is just steps away outside the Geodome and has a sink, toilet and stand up shower with all the bathroom ammenities you may need. We also have an outdoor shower available for use when returning from the beach or if you simply prefer the “one with nature” option. The dome sits on a 42x36’ deck, Equipped with covered Gazebo, picnic table, BBQ Grill and hanging Egg chairs, couch and fire pit for relaxing no matter what the whether may be. The whole Geodome and deck area are for your private use during your stay on the 1st tier of the property. Our property is situated in three tiers (top to bottom): Tier 1 - The Geodome is situated on the southern end of tier one. Tier 2 - Our Private Residence/Cottage is on northern end of tier two. Tier 3 - Our warehouse/farm area takes up the whole of tier three. Though we travel regularly, we are normally on property as we are semi-retired. If you drive into Holualoa Village, you’ll find ART galleries, boutiques and cafe’s. If you happen to be here on the FIRST FRIDAY of the month, there is a “Holualoa First Friday” Festival that features, music, additional vendors and most all of the regular stores hold night time hours for the event. Public transportation is limited on island and therefore Car rental is highly recommended. UBER is available in the area (usually from airport) but not always early in the morning or late at night or on a consistent basis.
