Quiet Hideaway

Our basement suite provides private accommodations with a dedicated bathroom, living area, and queen bedroom. Bedroom #2 is available for parties of more than two guests or if twin beds are preferred. Extra twin mattress and twin air mattress available for parties of six. Specify your preference for bedroom #2 when booking. We are within walking distance of Dordt University, library, and downtown. Please note that we are located in Sioux Center--not Sioux City, IA or Sioux Falls, SD! The space Both bedrooms and bathroom are adjacent to our basement sitting area. This space is away from our family activity, and very private. Bedroom #1 features a queen bed, a small desk area and a soft chair for reading. If you prefer twin beds, perhaps you would like to ask for Bedroom #2, which features extra long twin beds, a desk and extra chair (and serves as a study when no one is visiting). Both rooms have egress windows. The sitting room couch could accommodate an extra person if needed. We have only one listing, so you will never share the basement with other guests. Guest access We will arrange to be home to greet you and show you in, so please keep us informed as to your arrival time and any changes in your travel plans. The basement sitting area includes a Roku equipped TV with cable, a shelf of games, and a table for playing games. (For those of you who have stayed before, we no longer have our ping pong table. Sorry!) Guests will also have access to the upstairs kitchen for a light breakfast (which we provide) and coffee/tea in the morning. If you wish to use the kitchen stove, please let us know and we can work something out. A small fridge and microwave are also available plus a few dishes. During your stay We enjoy interacting with our guests if our schedule allows, but are very willing to give our guests complete privacy. Since our schedules are flexible, we are often in and out during the day. Other things to note Text us your travel plans so that we can be available to show you in upon your arrival. Park on our driveway--right side, far enough back to let a car into the garage in front of you. Temporary parking on the street across from our house is OK, but no overnight street parking is allowed in Sioux Center. If you plan to visit the local water park/indoor pool, during your stay, we can loan you swim towels.
