Beach parks, hiking trails, grocery stores, restaurants, food trucks, shops, etc. are conveniently located nearby. This small rural community is authentically Hawaiian, unlike touristy Waikiki. The 2 lane highway along east Oahu hugs the coastline, offering spectacular ocean & mountain views, making it the most scenic drive on the island, IMO. There are 2 popular state hiking trails (Hauula Loop Trail, & Maakua Ridge Trail), plus a paved scenic nature path just a short walk from the house. Beaches, grocery stores, & restaurants are within walking distance. If you decide not to rent a car, there are bus stops going both directions close by. Oahu has a good public bus system, BTW. NOTE: Master Suite & small bedroom are the only areas with a/c. The rest of the house catches a breeze from our northeasterly tradewinds. Owners occupy downstairs with 2 small children.
