This no-smoking cottage is located at the Kepuhi Beach Resort, close to pristine beaches, trails, and an oceanfront pool. The cottage is a peaceful place to work online, explore, or unplug & relax. You will enjoy blue ocean & beach views, colorful sunsets, breezes, tropical birds, waves, and whales in the winter. The space This beautiful ocean-view cottage is located on the arid west end of the island of Molokai, made up of miles of stunning white-sand beaches. It features a modern kitchen with custom cabinets and new appliances, including a stove, oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, 55" smart TV, washer/dryer, and fast, reliable WIFI. The master bedroom offers a king bed with ocean views and a full tiled bathroom. The upper-level bedroom is private for two with a queen bed and a modern tiled bathroom & shower. Tropical gardens surround the cottage, and several gas grills with picnic tables are nearby. The Kepuhi Sundries is a small convenience store near the pool that offers swimsuits, t-shirts, sunscreen, and food supplies such as milk, water, eggs, sodas, ice cream, and other small treats. Guest access GENERAL TRAVEL AND LOCATION INFORMATION Molokai is straightforward to reach via Mokulele Airlines from Honolulu or other neighboring islands, such as Maui. You can check online for daily commuter flights. We suggest reserving a rental car through Alamo Rent-A-Car for pick-up at the Molokai Airport. You can also look up "Dana Kish Molokai" or "Mobettah car rental" online for discounted rates. When you land in Molokai, the cottage is 20 miles west of the major grocery stores on the Island. The airport is halfway to town, so after picking up your rental car at the airport, it is a good idea to make your first grocery run into town upon arrival. The stores are closed if you arrive after 7 pm or on a Sunday. Come prepared! Our family sometimes brings frozen Costco favorites for staples to get us started. A small store near the pool carries milk, bread, eggs, etc. The Kepuhi Beach Resort is located in the center of the Island, 12 miles west of the Molokai Airport. The once vibrant, now vacant Sheraton Hotel buildings and overgrown 18-hole golf course surround the oceanfront resort, creating a quiet, non-touristy, and peaceful location. Remember that the resort area is natural, rustic, and eco-friendly, so if you do not prefer exploring the outdoors—beautiful beaches, blue water, and walking trails adjacent to the ocean—or mind the occasional gecko, then Molokai may not be the place for you. Papohaku Beach, one of the longest beaches in Hawaii, is just a short stroll south of the cottage and provides long sandy walks in front of beautiful estates along the ocean's edge. Kepuhi Beach is located on both sides of the old hotel and is great for surfing and boogie boarding in the winter months. It is ideal for swimming and snorkeling in the spring and summer. The Make Horse beaches are just to the north, with many tide pools and private sandy beaches. Seven miles southwest is the small town of Maunaloa, with its colorful kite store and post office. The largest town on Molokai is Kaunakakai, 20 miles to the east. Most grocery stores, art/gift shops, mini markets, restaurants, and scuba/snorkel equipment rentals are in Kaunakakai. Kaunakakai is also home to the Molokai Hotel and Paddler's Restaurant and Bar, where local musicians often entertain. Renting a car is recommended. For discounted rentals, try calling Dana Kish. Look him up online: Dana Kish Molokai. There is also Alamo Rent-A-Car and Mo Betta Auto Rentals. Molokai is a friendly escape where you can completely unplug and experience nice people. It is also a natural paradise, perfect for spending time with family and friends away from crowds. ________________________________ Helpful Tips Grills The Grills are new as of January 2022! Lighting Instructions for the Grills are as follows: Turn on the Gas Timer behind the rock wall (20-40-60) Minutes Open the Lid and Leave Open Whichever Burner you want to ignite, depress and turn the knob counter-clockwise, and it will ignite the burner when it hits the "High" position. If the Burner does not ignite, try again immediately. If after three attempts, turn the knob off and let the built-up gas clear for 5 minutes, then try again. Please use the Grill Safely; improper use of grills releases Kepuhi Beach Resort and any KBR employees from any responsibility for injury or damage. The Pool Kepuhi Beach Resort is fortunate to have an Oceanside Pool, as the county would not permit such a location if someone tried to build it now. So that's what makes ours so unique and special. The Pool and Pool Furniture are available for Kepuhi Beach Owners and their Guests. Our pool attracts many extra people because of its excellent location and Surfer Beach. Therefore, we have a Pool Employee who works on the weekends. They will ask for your Name and the Condo number where you are staying. Kepuhi Beach Resort is a Non-SMOKING Complex: The only place you can smoke is at the smoking tables. Please be a responsible smoker and clean up after yourself.
