It's an exceptionally lovely spot with wide tree-lined lots, mature gardens, and many beautiful hidden walking trails nearby. Tucked away in the private forests and gardens here, with very lovely private residents and mature trees, we're still only minutes away from some of the best amenities (Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, Local Organic Grocers, and a variety of Farm Shares), universities Amherst College, UMass, Hampshire, and downtown's amenities, restaurants, cafes, bookshops, boutiques, etc. *** Guests must take extra care driving in and out of our driveway as well as on the street, as there are many lovely families with young children and pets on our street. Please do respect the quiet and serene nature of our private and residential neighborhood. It's a genuinely kind, mindful, and keenly private and responsible community. *** We welcome all ages -- including guests with infants, children and / or older folks -- as there are no stairs to contend with. There is also plenty of green space on our property to enjoy at a safe and ample distance. Once again, the cottage is a fully-private and self-sufficient structure, separate from the Main House; it has its own meters, and no shared walls, and is ample distance from the Main House. The two separate structures are only connected by an exterior roofline that connects to the Main House carport (now a peastone garden room that delineates the Main House entrance); the cottage, again, has its own private entrance ample 10 + feet distance from the Main House, again with no stairs to contend with. It is a lovely little spot, approximately 550 square feet; though it feels very spacious, airy, and light with its high cathedral ceilings and large clerestory windows. There is a lovely bedroom nook separated visually from the living area by a built-in closet that is open above to the cathedral ceiling and windows. We've put in a new and plush Westin Heavenly bed with 450+ thread count sheets, complete with a wondrously soft duvet, organic quilt alternative, and good pillows. The bathroom is small but immaculate -- with a standing shower (no tub), small sink, good storage, hooks, and plenty of on-demand hot water. (In cooler months, the bathroom can get a tad chilly with its original terrazzo floors; so we've provided freshly laundered slippers for our winter guests and can also provide a super safe and easily intuitive Dyson heater if need be for exceptionally cold winter nights.) There is a small table with seating for dining or working, a large sofa, and two comfortable chairs for lounging. And again, the cottage is entirely self-sufficient -- the kitchen is fully-stocked with pots, pans, utensils, flatware, and dishware, for making and eating meals should you choose to. We've added excellent chef's knifes as well. There is a microwave, pop-up toaster, tea kettle, and coffee maker. We provide organic coffees, teas, and sweeteners. A welcome binder may be provided with information about local restaurants, take out options, laundromats with pick up / delivery service (for longer term guests), and other local attractions. Guest access Parking is provided on the street; there is plenty of safe, free parking. During snow season, we provide parking in our driveway. *** Guests must take extra care driving in and out of our driveway as well as on the street; as again, there are many lovely families with young children and pets on our street. Please also do respect the quiet and serene nature of our private and residential neighborhood. *** Other things to note We provide a wifi-ready suite with full speed internet services, including access to Netflix & HBO -- but there is no Cable TV access.
