Onset is a close-knit village with a mix of seasonal and full time residents that features a locally-owned cafe, shops, and restaurants, quiet, walkable, tree-lined streets complete with vintage-style gas lamps, and well-maintained parks and beaches. Guests will have use of 2 private parking spots as well as street parking (parking permits provided). The neighborhood is very walkable with cafes, a small grocery store, and several restaurants, and the beach is steps from the cottage. Cranberry Highway (Route 6) offers larger chain stores and restaurants, and fun activities for kids (go-carts, bumper boats, a water park) and is about a 5-minute drive away. Other coastal villages, including Wareham Center, Marion, Mattapoisset, and Buzzards Bay, are all within a 10-15 minute drive. The Bourne Bridge to Cape Cod is about 15 minutes away, and Boston is a 1 hour drive away. A rail station with service to Boston is about 20 minutes away and a bus with services to Logan airport is about 10 minutes away. This property has two units on the lot. However the only shared area is the laundry room. Each unit has dedicated parking and separate outdoor entertainment space. We ask guests in front unit to be respectful of your area when accessing laundry room. Air-conditioning is comprised of window units in both bedrooms and one in the common area. Cottage is not insulated. There is floorboard heating on the downstairs level. We also provide electric blankets and a space heater. Additionally you have the option to cancel up to 5 days before the time for a full refund if the temperatures are unseasonably low.
