Guest access Guests will have full and private access to the BACK unit of this large 18th century home, which includes a downstairs 2 bedroom apartment, upstairs 2 bedroom loft space, shared breezeway, and private backyard. Guests will enter the property through a wooden gate into a shared breezeway located on the side of the home. This outside path leads directly to the entrance of the unit as well as a private backyard space. The breezeway is the only shared space, however there are shared walls as this is a multi unit property. The front unit of this home is rented as a mid-term rental, with guests ranging from one month to several months. Like many New Orleans homes, there is street parking only for this unit. There is often no difficulty parking as there are plenty of street parking spots available in front of the home, further down the block, or directly across the street. All we ask is that you do not park directly in front of the blue house located next door– we have great neighbors and want to respect their space as well! Other things to note Please note: The front apartment of the building is occupied by a long term tenant, though it is completely private and has a separate entrance. The long term tenant will have occasional access to the shared breezeway however the backyard remains exclusively for guests of this space. QUIET HOURS are strictly enforced between 10pm-8am in order to respect all renting parties. While a mix of commercial and residential, our block has a quiet residential feel and we hope you and your group get to experience what it feels like to live like a local. With that being said, this is not the space for rowdy groups traveling for the sole purpose of partying. There are MANY nearby bars and drinking establishments to enjoy before settling down at the property. This home is old, fragile, and not a place for boisterous behavior, so we ask that you reserve that behavior for appropriate New Orleans establishments and adventures and are respectful to our neighbors and our space when returning home. We have great neighbors who will notify us if guests disobey quiet hours or cause any disruptions to neighbors or other tenants. IF BOOKING BETWEEN APRIL AND OCTOBER New Orleans summers (and the months leading up to our hottest season) are extremely hot and humid, with outdoor temperatures often reaching the high 90s and sometimes over 100°F. While our property is equipped with 2 central air conditioning systems, please note that most residential HVAC systems are designed to cool the home to about 20 degrees below the outdoor temperature. That means when it’s 100°F outside, the system may only be able to cool the space to 78–80°F. To help the system work efficiently and avoid breakdowns, we ask that guests never set the thermostat below 70, but preferably in the 74–76°F, especially during the hottest parts of the day. Keeping blinds or curtains closed during the day, using ceiling fans, and setting the thermostat to “auto” (not “on” or continuous) can make a big difference in keeping the space comfortable. Additionally, while we love the charming historic details of our home like high ceilings, older windows, and beautiful architecture, it is important to note that these older homes can be more challenging to cool during extreme heat. We ask guests staying with us be mindful of the AC settings. Our goal is to preserve the home’s integrity while also ensuring your comfort! Registration Details 21-CSTR-11697, 23-OSTR-20915
