Please note - We have recently updated the listing to include the entire home. You are not sharing any area of the home with the owner or other guests, it is completely private. There are two bedrooms and two bathrooms upstairs. Each upstairs bedroom has a king size mattress and it's own bathroom. The upstairs is the main area consisting of large kitchen, dining area, living room area, and large patio with additional seating. There is a queen size day bed located in the living room. There is also a separate entrance to the downstairs which you can think of as being a separate apartment, it has its own living room and kitchenette area, one bedroom, one bathroom, and separate laundry space. The downstairs bedroom has a queen size bed and a sizable couch. This layout is perfect for multiple families or if you are traveling with adult children that want their own privacy. Our house is conveniently located, just two minutes from beautiful, private Heeia Bay. In the summer, Heeia Bay is calm and peaceful - perfect for floating or snorkeling. In the winter, Heeia Bay lights up with some amazing surfing with minimal crowds (not suitable for beginners). Also nearby, Keauhou Bay is a short 5 minute walk. Keauhou Bay offers a calmer atmosphere, great for stand up paddle-boarding, playing in the volleyball court, or catching a sport fishing or manta ray charter. Kahaluu Beach is about a 20 minute walk (1 mile), offering beginner friendly surf rentals & lessons, and picturesque safe snorkeling with lifeguards on duty. Other beaches along Alii Drive are just a short bike (rentals available at Kahaluu) or drive away. Beach chairs, coolers, and beach toys all available for guest enjoyment. Also within walking distance is the Keauhou Shopping Center. The center features a movie theater, a pharmacy, full featured grocery store, and many restaurants including Thai, Mexican, and breakfast spots. On Saturday mornings, checkout the farmers market - complete with exotic local fruits such as passionfruit, mangos, dragonfruit, and more. This shopping center has the absolute best Sushi restaurant on the island, Kenichis, as well as the famous Sam Choy's restaurant, perfect for happy hours watching the sun set over the horizon. If those options were not enough, downtown Kona bars and restaurants are a short ten minute drive along beautiful Alii drive. Our home is best suited to responsible travelers. We do prefer travelers 21 minimum age to book our home. Guests arriving with more than the approved travelers (maximum eight persons) will not be permitted to check in and no refunds will be given. Travelers that invite additional guests to the property, will not be permitted and the reservation cancelled immediately without refund. Request to book indicates full acceptance of all house rules. The entire 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom home is for you to use, including the enchanting backyard and pool. Joe and Anna live near by and can help you should any issues with the Airbnb arise. Indulge in island living while relishing the comfort of our home and the convenience of its surroundings. Book now and experience the magic of Keauhou's past and present. You can walk to a few nearby beaches, golf course, shopping center, and the Saturday's farmer market. You can catch a open-air shuttle at the shopping center, to go to all the sites along Alii Drive (Magics Beach, Kona Brewing Company, Downtown Kona). If you are going outside Kona town you will need to rent a car. Absolutely no smoking or vaping anywhere on the property. Please don't leave out food overnight as much as possible. Ants and bugs get attracted to sugary things when left out. Please clean up sticky spills immediately to prevent from attracting bugs. Please close all sliding doors and make sure to use screens to keep the bugs out. They will come in if screens are left open. The wild song birds are VERY prevalent in our neighborhood. The birds are peaceful, but can be loud, especially as the sun rises (5 AM in the summer, a bit later in the winter). Coqui frogs may be heard at night. Coqui frogs are very common on all of Big island, but since we live at sea level, the frogs are far less prevalent. We try to cool our house with the natural ocean breeze. The downstairs is equipped with three ceiling fans, a portable floor fan, and many windows encouraging air flow. We also recently installed a small AC in all the bedrooms. That being said, the Kona heat may be uncomfortable for some especially in the summer. Hawaii is a tropical environment, full of critters such as Geckos, moths, centipedes, roaches, and ants. We treat our property with organic products, and strive to keep a clean environment including removing all trash nightly. That being said, you may see an occasional critter that we can remove upon request.
