Located a half hour west of Cedar Rapids and 45 minutes from Iowa City for game days. Pets are welcome. The space Located on an acreage south of Blairstown Iowa. Open loft has 1 full and 2 twin beds. we have a foldaway cot and a sleeper sofa available as well. We live in the main house on the property. whether you are just looking for a quiet night or weekend away to enjoy the Iowa Countryside and evenings by the firepit, or a golf or hunting week, we have you covered. Perfect location for a golfing outing as there are several public golf courses within 30 minutes, including Van Horne, Marengo, Amana colonies and Williamsburg. We are also conveniently located 5 miles north of the Iowa River Corridor with 10,000 acres of prime Iowa public hunting. The Iowa River Corridor is known for pheasant, duck, whitetail deer, and turkeys. For a family week, we are only 3 miles from Benton County's Hannen Park. The quiet lake is locally known for its Crappie, Bass , and Blue Gills and a public beach. Another local secret is Gateway Park in Marengo, which is a 30 acre reclaimed sand pit stocked with Walleyes. Numerous Indian Tribal Habitation and camps along the Iowa River. During low water level people have found Indian artifacts such as arrowheads, scrappers, and axe heads. See map. Iowa River boat ramp is located near Gateway Park in Marengo.
