Modern decor! Boho feel! Quality furnishings! This cabin is a peaceful retreat on Toledo Bend. Surrounded by oaks, it boosts a freshly furnished interior with a bit of a Boho flair. Cabin 2 sleeps 7! Check out our sister cabin- Cabin 1, which sleeps 6 and has a pavilion. We provide access to the community boat ramp shared by 7 cabins of the original Shady Oak Lodge. The space Come relax in this tranquil retreat that has an expansive porch with outdoor seating and a dining table. There is a fit pit and grill in the midst of the oaks that create a wonderful outdoor experience. The cabin with its open floor plan and vaulted ceilings has a peaceful vibe that feels like home. The master bedroom has a comfortable queen-sized bed and a twin bed. The other bedroom has a twin over full bunk bed and another twin bed with new bedding. The kitchen is fully equipped with all needed appliances and cookware, except a dishwasher. The bathroom is nice with a tub/shower combination. Opal house shower curtain and boho decorations. We have a playground and sandbox for the kids to enjoy. It has been a favorite for years! The playground is a shared space with Cabins 1 and 3. We allow pets in Cabin 2. If you have allergies, consider Cabin 1 where pets aren’t allowed. We follow an enhanced cleaning protocol. Here are a few highlights: - High-touch surfaces are sanitized - Clean each room with cleaners and disinfectants approved by health agencies - Wash ALL bedding (including comforters) after each guest In addition, we have mattress encasements and pillow protectors to protect against allergens. Check in is at 4:00 pm or later on the day of arrival and check out is noon or earlier on the day of departure. There is no smoking inside the cabin. Come and visit us! Guest access The boat ramp is available to cabins of the Old Shady Oak Lodge. You are welcome to bank your boat next to the boat ramp or tie onto the poles instead of taking it out of the water. If you want to take your boat out and charge it, the outside plug-ins are on the East side of the cabin. Please enjoy the fire pit area. We are also excited to offer the playground for kiddos. Visit us, where families and fishermen have been coming for years to find tranquility and a little piece of heaven on earth. Other things to note We try to make it as easy as possible for you. Our cabin has a code lock, and we will give you the code after the Rental Agreement is signed. Guests are required to sign a Short Term Rental Agreement a week before their stay, but at least 48 hours prior to their stay at a minimum; the door code won’t be sent until Agreement is signed. Short Term Rental Agreement will be emailed after reservation is made. Short Term Rental Agreement contains the following Rules: RENTAL RULES 1. No Smoking in and around the Cabin for safety. Properly dispose of cigarette butts in ashtray on the porch. 2. People other than those in the Rental Party set forth above may not stay overnight in the Property. Any other person in the Property is the sole responsibility of Guest. Parties and large gatherings of any kind are strictly prohibited at the Property; and any small gathering must comply with City ordinances. 3. The Property Owners are not responsible for the loss of personal belongings or valuables of Rental Party. Any time Rental Party leaves the Property, it is their responsibility to ensure all windows and doors are locked to maintain security and prevent rain and water damage. 4. Keep the Property and all furnishings in good order. Rental Party must switch off lights, fans, electronics such as televisions when not in use to promote energy saving. Any damage to the Property or items stolen from the Property will result in the reduction or elimination of the security deposit. Do not try to fix any damage that has occurred. Minor incidental damage will typically result in a damage claim of $50. Major damage will result in the loss of the security deposit. 5. Pets: Pets are allowed. Rental party will be responsible for damage due to guests. 6. Housekeeping: There is no daily housekeeping service. Linens and bath towels are for Cabin use, and not to be taken outside the Cabin. Dishes are to be hand washed and placed back in the Cabin at checkout. Refrigerator needs to be emptied at checkout. A $25 fee will be taken out of the security deposit for dishes left in the sink or items left in the refrigerator. 7. Water: The water will be on at check-in. 8. Trash: Rental Party is to empty inside and outside trash and take with them at Checkout. A $25 fee will be taken out of the security deposit for left trash. Trash can be dropped off at the Sabine Parish Dumpsite, which is located approximately 1 mile East on LA Hwy 6 from the LA Hwy 191 and LA Hwy 6 intersection. The hours are: Sunday: 2-6:30 PM, Monday: 6:30-9 AM, Tuesday: 6:30-9 AM and 4-6:30 PM, Wednesday: closed, Thursday: 6:30-9 AM and 4-6:30 PM, Friday: 6:30-9 AM and 4-6:30 PM, Saturday: 6:30-9 AM and 4-6:30 PM. 9. Fire pit: Do not leave the fire unattended. Put fire out with water hose prior to going to bed. 10. Grill: The grill is available for use. 11. Septic: The Cabin is on a septic system. The septic system is very effective; however, it will clog up if improper material is flushed. Do not flush anything other than toilet paper, including feminine products. 12. Emergency: In case of emergency, dial 911. Please also notify the Property Owner after calling 911 in the event of an emergency. The fire extinguisher is located to the right of the front door. There is a first aid kit under the kitchen sink for use in non-emergency situations.
