Description

Forget your worries in this spacious and serene space 15 mins from Glacier National Park on the edge of Lewis & Clark Natl. Forest. The Cedar Cabin, former studio and residence of a local painter, features a cozy living & dining room space with two bedrooms and one bathroom. Perfect as a staging spot for your hikes into the Park or just as a wilderness getaway, the Aspen Art House is next door which also hosts guests. Wildlife like deer, moose abound, with a large mountain-view pond as well. Other things to note The St. Mary Entrance to Glacier National Park is 33 miles or about 50 minutes away driving (the road is a bit windy), and the Two Medicine Entrance is 10 miles or 10-15 minutes away from the property. Reservation ticketed entry is not required before 6am and after 3pm (May 26 through Sept. 10) or with reservations in the Park - check out their website for updated info. There isn’t a TV, but there is excellent WiFi. Unfortunately as this property was recently converted for use as short-term rentals, alterations have not yet been made to accommodate those with special accessibility needs. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns. The cabin is in a rural area in the woods, and as such there are numerous wild animals that live in the area. This presents amazing photographic opportunities but requires guests to be aware of the space and their surroundings. Please don't leave food or garbage outside to deter weasels, coyotes, foxes, or bears (mostly black bears, we haven't seen grizzlies in the local area for a number of years). Don't approach moose as they are more dangerous than their adorable appearance makes them appear. Finally, we do our very best with mouse mitigation inside the house, but occasionally one will evade our efforts, so if that happens please let us know and we will place additional traps. We use mouse poison in the winter when there are no guests with small children or pets who could be harmed by its use.
