I love this location - close enough to downtown Kailua-Kona and services, but out of the busiest of the traffic. I enjoy being able to quickly get to Kahalu’u for a snorkel or stay put and enjoy Magic Sands or Pahoehoe Park. Having the restaurant next door is amazing when you don’t feel like cooking or you just want to grab a drink with an epic view. You are also closer to Kealakekua and Captain Cook. I recommend a car to explore the Big Island. When you don’t want to drive, there are rental bikes available across the street. When there is not a pandemic, there’s also a free shuttle that takes you into town or to the Keauhou Shopping Center with a stop right in front of the condo complex. While most find the sound of ocean waves relaxing, when the surf is up, some folks like to wear earplugs. There is no air conditioning - most of the units here don’t and we do fine with leaving the large windows open as well as the door for a nice cross-breeze and there are ample fans to cool you off throughout the studio sleeping and lounging area. If you need your room to be cold, this is likely not the place for you. I find it easier to enjoy the weather when I don’t go to extremes between indoor and outdoor space. Since I work from this studio, I installed a sound-dampening booth for when I need it to be quiet and not have waves in the background during video calls or phone calls (it’s a good problem to have;). You’re welcome to use it - please no food or drinks inside. It has a space for a laptop as well. We have basic cable with a Roku streaming stick so you can log into Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu etc. - sorry, no ESPN or other premium channels.
