Unique property that feels like a private resort. This listing includes TWO units on property with separate entrances. Located within minutes from downtown HIlo yet set in a very quiet neighborhood. Multiple decks to enjoy the ocean views, take a sauna, plunge in the private pool, or visit th esurfing beach and swimming river park just down the street… it’s everything for a group getaway. Having two separate kitchens, and multiple zones to hang out is ideal for extended families and groups. The space Upper House: Spacious and light, with wonderful wood details throughout house. Endless views of the ocean, which from the second floor gives a sense of floating. Multiple balconies offer togetherness or more private enjoyment of the outdoors. Very large lanai with eating area upstairs and downstairs; smaller oceanview deck off the main bedroom; and a third large deck with shaded seating and bbq off the back of the master bedroom. The master bedroom is spacious—size of most apartments with an en suite bathroom with a decadent walk in shower and tub. King hybrid mattress, black out curtains and remote controlled ceiling fans/lights. There is a very comfortable queen sofabed in this room, and a 55 inch TV with a sitting area. The second bedroom has a queen size bed and a small nook that kids will love. The living room has a pull out queen mattress sofabed. Large TV. A very large couch and popular swing chair. Kitchen is fully stocked with amenities. Dining table that can seat 8-10 people __ Lower Unit: With a private entrance and no shared walls, the flat is self-contained with an open concept floor plan of a kitchen, ample dining area and living room. The bedroom is roomy, and the bathroom is recently remodeled. Bedroom: king-sized bed, blackout curtains, desk, full closet and remote controlled-fan/ceiling light. Kitchen: Full-sized appliances, microwave and toaster oven, garbage disposal. Amenities and supplies cover basic needs, and we can also help with special requests if you can give us advance notice. Living room: Palliser queen-sized mattress sofabed (very comfortable) that sleeps two, 55-inch TV with digital channels (Spectrum) and internet connection to let you sign-in to your streaming services. Dining area: Comfortably seats 4, as well as a breakfast counter in kitchen, and remote-controlled fan/light. Lanai (porch): seats that look to the pool or ocean. - Communal areas, which will be private for you during your stay as the only guests on the property: Sauna: there is a small sauna off the back deck of the upper part of the house. Please read the instructions before use. Pool: remodeled in October 2021, has a bahama (seating in shallow water) area and plenty of poolside lounging areas. Since you Yard: very expansive grassy yard with unblocked ocean views. We encourage guests to research and expect that we live on the ocean in a tropical climate--Hilo is the more humid side of Big Island, which we love for the soft air, but can mean more rainfall. Birds, geckos and insects are common and will occasionally sneak close to the house. Though they are harmless, we take great pains to keep our house pest-free and pride ourselves on keeping a clean home. Coqui frogs are now a characteristic of HIlo, they are never seen but gently sing every night for a few hours starting at dusk. Expect to fall asleep to the sound of waves every night... and every day is a chance to watch the sun start a new day if you want to wake up that early! Guest access The guests have sole access to the main house, which consists of two levels. The garage and detached studio buildings are locked and reserved for the owner—there is still plenty of guest parking. The yard, pool and sauna are exclusively for the guests, with only the occasional service crew or owner visit to provide maintenance.
