(Please note, I only advertise or book this condo through Airbnb! If someone has approached you to book this through another site it is a scam.) This 1 bedroom condo is all about LOCATION. A short walk to Ala Moana Shopping Center, the Waikiki Convention Center and Ala Moana Beach Park, right at the gateway to Waikiki. The Ala Wai Promenade, a tree lined walkway, runs along the front of the building. Out of the hustle and bustle of Waikiki, this is a true hidden gem. This is an historic building, built by the army corp of engineers in the late 1940's as officers quarters for Fort DeRussy. The US military knew how to pick the prime locations for bases and facilities, and this building is one of their picks, well before Waikiki got developed. Recently remodeled and converted into condos, our unit is on the second floor (no elevator in the building) facing the Ala Wai Promenade. The building consists of 42 units, 21 in each of the 2 buildings. There are security gates with keyed access. There is an air conditioning unit in the bedroom. Kitchen has full size refrigerator, stove and microwave. Parking stall is included. There is a laundry room with 3 washers and 4 dryers, coin operated, shared by all units. I am available by phone or email. I live on Maui but I have a daughter that lives in the same building that will get keys to you, point out parking area, etc. The neighborhood is a mixture of low rises, high rises, commercial properties and a few single family homes. Many fabulous restaurants are within walking distance. Bus transportation is at Ala Moana Shopping center, about a 5 minute walk. Uber or Lift are readily available and most rides to areas in Waikiki are $10 or less. The new Biki (bike) system has numerous stations nearby and a pass can be purchased for $20 for 300 minutes. There is a great biking area all through Ala Moana Beach Park which ends at Kewalo Basin. We have a parking stall for 1 car.
