Home in Great Barrington

Welcome to our weekend home in the Berkshires! We now rent it out when we’re not there, following a top-to-bottom renovation with all new furniture, and hope our guests enjoy it as much as we do. Our home is in Great Barrington, 2.5 hours' drive from NYC, surrounded by trees and parkland (Monument Mountain is next door). Yet it's less than 10-15 minutes' drive to town, shopping, restaurants, skiing, and Tanglewood. Come enjoy the Berkshires with complimentary gourmet coffee! The space High-speed WiFi and central heat/air on main floor and upstairs Main floor: - Gourmet kitchen with super automatic Tchibo coffee machine with fresh beans from NYC's Porto Rico Importing Company, 5-range gas stove, microwave, dishwasher, electric kettle, toaster oven, InstantPot - Dining room with 8-seat farmhouse dining table - Living room with grand piano, gas fireplace (turned off during summer air-conditioning months) - Den with 55" TV with Amazon Fire Stick streaming device (streaming only; no cable) - Master suite with king-size bed, Leesa mattress, flatscreen TV with Amazon fire stick (streaming only; no cable), motorized standing desk, attached bath (dual sinks, dual showerheads, and a soaking tub) - Guest suite on opposite side of the house with queen-size bed, Casper mattress, attached bath - Enclosed three-season porch looking out onto the pool, grill, patio, with trees all around - Powder room - Laundry closet Upstairs: - 2 additional bedrooms, each with queen sized bed, Casper mattress, and a desk for virtual school. - 2 additional full bathrooms* - Reading area with rocker chair - Bay window sitting nook * Please note: Our house is in the country and therefore on well water, which means that water must be softened and filtered and then stored. This system, together with our commercial-grade water heater, can support three simultaneous 10-minute showers but then needs 25 minutes to recover (vs. 60-75m for most residential water heaters). We've never had a problem, but this does mean that not all the showers can run at the same time. Garage: - Tesla EV charger on a NEMA 14-50 outlet (240V on 50 AMP circuit) so you can swap out for your own charger if you have a different EV - WiFi garage door system (guests can open and close the garage door via their smartphones after signing up for the app). Pool (generally open Memorial Day through Labor Day, but to confirm specific dates, please ask): - All guests during the summer months will need to sign a separate pool liability waiver in advance and abide by all pool rules (no drinking, diving, etc.) - To heat the pool to about 75-85 degrees, guests will need to pay a separate $150-300 fee per day, depending on the month, for the propane needed as it is very expensive to heat the pool. We also have to heat it or leave it unheated for the entire stay (we cannot turn it on and off during your visit). Guest access Guests will have access to the entire house and yard with the exception of a few cabinets, drawers, and closets where we keep our stuff.
