Morning light in the kitchen and afternoon light throughout the living space, complete with sunset views at day's end. It is truly the sort of space you enter and just want to stay. Anyone who visits us remarks on how comfortable it is. A partially wooded yard allows for a mix of sun or shade, take your pick. The southwest facing house with TONS of windows stays cool from the prevailing summer breeze, but A/C throughout the upstairs keeps sleeping spaces especially cool if desired. The kitchen was beautifully built for meal preparation, and socializing, with views from every window. Stand at the sink and look out at the cut-flower garden, or work at the counter and watch your family in the yard and the sunlight on the water. Enjoy the patio, hammock, and chaise lounges while watching ospreys and herons dive for food only a couple feet away from you. If your lucky you way see some otters playing down by the shore, or turtles venturing out of the water. Enjoy walking around the lawn surrounded by flower and herb gardens. Beneath the kitchen window you will find our herb garden made up of basil, thyme, calendula, tomatoes, and rosemary to use in your cooking. Guest access This property is part of an 18 acre farm, surrounded by two bodies of water, that makes up the entirety of one of the "points" or peninsulas in Tisbury Great Pond. The one other house and studio belong to the owner's family. Guests are welcome to walk the trails around the point to spot wildlife and enjoy additional views of the pond, or explore through the meadows and horse pastures. There is also accommodation for two horses on the property and horse-loving guests are even welcome to ask about boarding their horses during their stay! With any luck we will get our large flower and vegetable garden up and going soon and guests are welcome to pick veggies and flower bouquets.
