Magical with the moonlight shining off palm fronds and leaves, twinkling lights on the lanai and at the entry. Native orchids on the palm trunks. Kona Natural Soaps are manufactured locally and used exclusively. Covered private carport. Pavilion for shady retreat or uncovered decking for sunbathing. Private lanai is great for breakfast and/or morning coffee. Moonlight turns the yard into a magical fairyland with orchids and twinkling lights. One acre of native plants plus fruit bearing trees and selected ornamentals. Kona coffee, filtered water, Kona Natural Soaps used exclusively. Beautiful new waterproof vinyl wood and drapes. Proudly supporting the Coral Reef Institute. Free covered parking. Hele-on bus is infrequently available, but a car is really necessary to get around the island. I'm generally home and am glad to help with info, etc., but I respect guest's privacy. Chair yoga class meets Fridays at 12:30 pm and you are welcome to join in. When checking out you can leave the keys on the table or in the lockbox. Remember you need to pull down on the ring inside the faucet to change the water flow to the shower from the tub. You can view the ocean and tide pools at the end of Makuu Drive and Makuu Point is a good spot to fish. Malama Market is 10 minutes away in the new Puna Kai Shopping Center. Many roadside markets are nearby. Puna area is agricultural, has lava road, and contains gems like Uncle Roberts night market. A great place for a healthy lunch is the Tin Shack Bakery in Pahoa. Hiking trails are abundant and the Volcano National Park is a must see. Check with individual facilities for hours due to covid. Hele-on bus is infrequently available. It is best to have your own car. The area is centrally located to Pahoa, Keaau, Hilo, Maunakea, and Volcano. Hiking, photography, bird watching and the new black sand beach at Pohoiki are nearby as are many yoga retreats, crafts and cultural events at community centers. Restful and private behind the palms. Luxury soaps from Kona Natural Soap Company use fresh aromatherapy scents and are locally made. Filtered water in fridge. Close to Volcano National Park, Makuu Pt., farmers market, Shipman Beach, Uncle Roberts night market (check with facility for hours), Maunakea and observatories. Lava Trees State Park. Bananas and orchids flower in the yard for several months. Many species of native plants including guava and ohia, live happily in the yard.
