South Maui cozy studio, split AC, steps to beach!

Aloha and welcome to Tranquil Turtle Retreat at Maui Banyan Resort! Our recently updated studio is located right in the heart of South Kihei close to world-class beaches, shopping and amazing restaurants. Enjoy Maui at its finest! The space The Tranquil Turtle first floor studio has been decorated and furnished in tropical beach style to reflect the unique atmosphere of Hawaii. The studio sleeps two, with California King size bed. It also features a small kitchenette (fridge, microwave, coffee maker, kettle, blender and tableware/silverware), a remodeled bathroom with a walk in shower and a private shaded lanai. We offer cable TV and free WiFi. Don’t overlook the fact that this studio uses a premium split-system for air conditioning. Not only this provides you with an elevated level of comfort, it also means no tropical insects or any other living things will be entering through window A/Cs in your sleep (yes, this is tropics!). Our studio is very similar to a hotel room (lock off condo). Please note that we don't have a washer/dryer in the studio (there's a Lipoa laundry center in Kihei that you can use). Pack lightly for the beach! The studio has beach towels, beach chairs, a sun umbrella and a small cooler. Our studio is on the "quiet" side of the resort, away from the traffic noise of South Kihei Rd and the parking lots of the resort. Because it is toward the rear of the resort, it is very private with much less foot traffic going by. There is also a second (less busier) swimming pool located right across this building. Upon arrival, guest can receive a free parking pass at the Maui Banyan office. Parking is limited and is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Guests can park in any stall that doesn’t have a “Reserved by Owner/Condo #” sign. Perfectly situated in a hotel-zoned district allowing for legal short-term rentals, Maui Banyan Resort offers its visitors 2 pools with hot tubs, BBQ areas, tennis court and 24/7 security, but the best part of it is it's location. It is right across the street from one of the best beaches in South Maui, Kamaole Beach 2, where you can take long walks on the sand, snorkel with sea turtles, watch Humpback whales swim by, have a picnic, work on your tan, and witness a world famous Maui sunset. Kamaole 2 lifeguards are on duty during the day for added peace of mind. If you feel like taking surfing lessons or trying stand-up paddleboarding, rentals are a 3-minute drive away at the best beginner surf spot on Maui. There are also lots of other activities close by including scuba diving, kayaking, and world-class golfing. Feel like an evening out? You are a short walk to some of the most popular restaurants and shopping in South Kihei including Cafe O'Lei, Coconuts, Fred's, Moose McGillycuddy's, just to name a few. There are also lots of quick bites, food trucks, a health food store, a convenience store, and a supermarket close by plus plenty of souvenir shops. Wailea is also only a 5-minute drive to the south where there are plenty of upscale dining options (Ko, Ferraro's, Monkeypod, Mateo, Spago, Duo) and high-end shopping at one of the resorts or the Shops at Wailea. You are also in the perfect location to explore the rest of the island. Day trips to Haleakala Crater, Paia, Makawao, Kaanapali and Hana are all very easy from our condo's central locations. The pool access code will be send via Airbnb messages prior to arrival. Check-in and check-out are very easy and secure. Guest will be provided a unique code to access the condo using a smart lock. No physical key is getting passed around among guests. There's an owner's closet in the condo that's locked and not accessible for guests during their stay. Other things to note - Maui Banyan Resort requires online registration for all arriving guests. Please provide us with your email address so that on the day of your arrival we can forward the welcome email with the registration link from Maui Banyan to you. There will be no additional resort/registration fees. - We provide a limited supply of consumable items such as toilet paper (3 rolls per bathroom), paper towels (2 rolls), cleaning products, etc. Since people consume these items at varying rates, guest should plan for replenishing these items as they are needed. - While we may have some snorkel gear available in the condo, we recommend renting snorkel gear from a reputable shop for optimal fit and hygiene. - Please note: AC thermostats have a minimum setting of 69°F. - With every stay we host, a donation is made to Maui Ocean Center Marine Institute. These donations directly support the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of the turtle patients on the island of Maui. Every guest receives a digital personalized adoption certificate.
