Located on the sunny west leeward side of Oahu in well maintained Hawaiian Princess resort-like building. Great amenities: Swimming pool, hot tub, 3 new gas BBQs, tennis courts, pickle ball, ping pong tables, library room, 24-hour security and cameras. Access to Princess is gated and requires key fob. Once your reservation is confirmed a week or so before arrival, I will send check in details on how to access the unit. It is self-check in with lock box. But I am only a couple minutes away if you prefer me to show you in. The lanai (balcony) is my favorite place on the planet! You can even sleep out under stars with the full ocean lullaby if you wish - just pull out the floor mattress from bedroom closet. But there is a comfy new cal king bed in bedroom and sleeper sofa in living room - both with large flat screen cable tvs. Condo has central cooling, but chances are the lovely open air sea breeze is all you will need. Cooling is an evaporative system so is not as cold as some air conditioning systems. Full kitchen with regular-size appliances is equipped with dishes, pots, pans, silverware, toaster, coffeemaker, can opener, blender, and microwave. Bathroom basic amenities are provided. There is a washer and dryer in condo and iron/board. All linens including beach towels are provided. Also snorkel gear, boogie boards, Tommy Bahama beach chairs, umbrella, and coolers. If you are looking for gorgeous less crowded beaches, and want to experience authentic Hawaii, this is your kind of place. Great local stores for all the necessities, several fast-food, and some ethnic restaurants are close by. Fine dining and more shopping located in Kapolei about 20 minutes away. If you continue past the building to the end of the road, there are no houses or buildings - only sand, ocean and majestic mountains! Makaha surfing beach is just past the building and often has gigantic sea turtles sunning on the beach. Many fabulous hikes around the area - seaside or lush tropical shady forest. Close to two 18 hole public golf courses. Twelve miles down the road (towards airport) is Ko'Olina Disney resort, lagoon beaches, nice restaurants, night luau events. Waianae harbor close by offers deep sea fishing charters, whale watching and dolphin tours, kayak and paddle boards rentals and lessons. And of course where you are staying is right on a great secluded beach and bay - so beautiful you may want to spend all your time here!!!! Enjoy the local vibe as Waianae and Makaha are not tourist towns like Waikiki. Respect of culture, wildlife and one another is important. ALOHA, a way of life, Penny From the airport you can rent a car, take a taxi, uber, lyft or bus. A car is recommended as great adventures and attractions are located all over the island. Every part of the island has something different to offer. The condo is located about 45 minutes from the airport. But rush hour traffic can be heavy - heading towards Honolulu (and airport) weekday mornings 5-9 am, returning 3-7 pm. To maximize time on the beach :) plan accordingly. Spread aloha while driving, it is the heart-warming norm here.
